Decided to update my Wii emulators, since last time I did was over a year ago.

Which PS1 emulator has CHD support? There's so many forks that it gets confusing.

I think this one has CHD support https://github.com/Jokippo/WiiSXRX_2022240p/releases There is also a beta build with support and fixes some games on page 111 of this thread second comment down from the top.
My god, yet another fork of another fork?
Not complaining... just... surprising to see one more.

So, I'm guessing, by the way you're saying it... that CHD support isn't fully implemented yet?
Like, I can't throw any CHD game in it and expect it to work properly, right?

Based on what I’ve read from other comments, CHD is not perfectly implemented and might be a bit of a headache to use. It sounds like it doesn’t impact performance, but it may cause DSI errors and crash the emulator at basically random times. So you’d have to test it very rigorously to find out if a game TRULY works in CHD format.

However, some pages ago, there was a commenter saying the problem with CHD is it uses a compression technique that is too demanding for the Wii to reliably decompress. If you take your PS1 library and compress it to CHD without using that one technique, then the Wii will probably have an easier time with it. The trade-off is your CHD won’t be quite as small as it could be. I don’t think anybody reported results on trying it this way.

It is best to disable lzma compression when using chd on this pcsx-r port to Wii. I haven't had anymore lock-ups when only cd deflate and optionally flac.

I have separate batch files, and use the one without the the flac option for games that do not use cdda.

I suppose it will for "native" 50Hz games (i.e. european games developped in 50Hz). Colin Mc Rae 2 is notorious for this, as the NTSC version is a crappy 60Hz conversion from the PAL version. Yeah, for once, the NTSC version is an inferior here. ^^

There's an even more exceptionally rare case where a European playstation port, adapted from a European arcade game (that runs at 60hz natively) runs slower than the original source game due to a bad conversion, this game being Radikal Bikers which was developed by Spanish developer Gaelco, ported to the playstation by another Spanish developer known as Bit Managers. For some reason despite the playstation port never being released in any NTSC countries, the game runs slower than intended. Needless to say the force 60hz option completely saves this port from being a waste and actually fixes what is otherwise a pretty good port of an arcade game.

Hey, guys,

@SaulFabre and @Jokippo , the release that "supposedly" fixes the Grandia issue was only partially fixed. It still crashes when entering some houses. This doesn't happen often, but it is a very common bug, almost 1 in 3 times the bug occurs, it is impossible to play. I was playing on version 1.0 and I went to test the latest version to see if it was really fixed as said and unfortunately it's not working properly

I'm still playing Beta 1.0 because it's the only version where the game works well.

Have you tried using dynarec to see if the issue still persists?

Hello, I have uploaded a video to my channel with the download of almost 1000 PS1 covers for Wiiflow with photorealistic quality. all the best

Do you think you can upload the covers to this thread here. https://gbatemp.net/threads/cover-collections-for-emulators-with-cover-support.324714/ Also the mediafire downloads will only let you download one cover at a time wich would take forever to get them all do you think you can place them in a zip file so we can download them all at once?

hi all, does anyone know what the latest version of wiistation is that still has interlaced/240p support? thanks.
This build by Saulfabre:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiistation-another-fork-of-wiisxrx-released.614405/post-10273493

Or this build by Jokippo (same as the one above, but with a "Force NTSC" setting for Pal games):
https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiistation-another-fork-of-wiisxrx-released.614405/post-10275526

--------
The most recent build that breaks the 240p support is here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiistation-another-fork-of-wiisxrx-released.614405/post-10283049
--------

EDIT: xjsxjs197 brought back 240p support in the Wiistation main branch, savestates are fixed (faulty changes reverted), L/R audio channels are correctly swapped, and config per game has been added.

But there's no build available yet, I think it will be for the next release maybe.

Hi @xjsxjs197

Any chance of an official release later this year?
thank's for your hard work
Everyone can try this version. I'm not sure if the various features added by Jokippo are still correct.
I don't know how to test 240p and deflicker filters, etc.

Does it include all graphical features added in lastest build by @SaulFabre ?
Yes.

What it doesn't contain:

- "Force NTSC" setting by Jokippo, as he never commited it in his wiistation branch (he only produced a test build), therefore xjsxjs197 can not merge it (I wish the option to be available in the main branch too).

What is needed to test in this new build:

- 240p and 480i deflicker, bilinear setting, etc, all that stuff again.
- savestates (old savestates should work again)
- config per game (see https://github.com/xjsxjs197/WiiSXRX_2022/commit/ea714bcfaf26ef591f1cb37f95eb0d1251305bc7 )
- L/R audio channels correctly swapped
