Hacking Wiikey Version 2 annouced

My wiikey v1 has been rock solid since it's install. I'll definitely be buying the v2 for the next couple of mods I do.

That would be a plus point for wiikey, if all the chips of that era were/are unstable, but they are not they are just as stable but also have fixed working firmware and with future updates, if Nintendo have any more tricks, a distinct possibility rather than a dead cert wiikey 'no chance'

As a current owner of the original wiikey i have no intention of upgrading mainly because of the poor service and communication demonstrated by the previous wiikey staff. Maybe the staff has changed. Maybe things have gotten better. Maybe they finally got their shit together.

Either way, they'll have to prove to me that their chip is worth buying. If the wiikey taught me anything, a good chip is worthless with crappy support.


I hope Cyclo comes out with the a V2 rev. If so, you can consider mine already brought.

I'm going to wait for the review, and if it seems to be worth the upgrade - I'll look into it.

Hopefully this still means they'll update the original Wiikey, as we're their original, loyal members.

If you want to upgrade from your old Wiikey to anything, upgrade to YAOSM it's the best chip for the old drives out there.

looks good, I'll get one if my v1 wiikey breaks. I'm still running 1.9g, works fine. That broken audio in 1.9s is kinda stupid.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be the best chip out there... because I seriously just ordered a D2Pro 9 on Sunday after banging my head around for a week trying to decide which to get.

What major games are even affected by the broken audio in 1.9s? And besides i've been using my Wiikey V1 for almost 2 years now, plays any game i throw at it. Like a few other people said here I just hope the team continues to update the Wiikey V1. Yea everyone is yelling about how the team have said they dont plan on releasing any more firmware updates but shit happens right.

Is this a joke? There has not been a single version of the Wiikey firmware that was not broken. And now these bastards want us to give them more money? LOL If it came down to buying a Wiikey product or doing without I would do without, no hesitation.

lol I recieved two official wiikeys in a row that just didnt work at all, period. I probably would have been better off with the supposed "unsupported clones"

The DOA rate of wiikeys is about 1 in 300~400 from what we have sold....so for you to get 2 in a row would either be a miracle, or bad soldering skills

your information is anecdotal and so no more valid than mine.
solder jobs were fine, chips either didnt work at all or worked once or twice.

OUT OF THE GATE, when they were first released, original wiikeys were bad 1 out of about 9, reported from the team themeselves a few weeks later.

assuming this is a different team, everything should hopefully work out nicely.

Wow, how quickly people forget the nearly 1 year long wait for the 'audio-fix' which they broke again anyway with 1.9s. The threads over a wii-newz were massive.

Ok we haven't seen any update/fix for wiikey until now and with the arrival of the second one ....Hell yeah wiikey 1 is Dead for sure. No more fixes no more support.

Hope some gurus out there modify the new Wiikey 2 firms to work on the old Wiikey

Same here . Never had any of the problems people have been nagging about here and on wiinews .
Running with latest firmware and never had ANY issues with it .

Maxconsole lovers can go buy their cyclowiz for all I care and support those leeches at divineo.
I´ll rather buy a chip that is manufactured by independent idealists any day ,even though it took them 6 months to fix 1 (one) game error(SMG) ..
