About to install a WiiKey via the long wire method, just curious as to where I should physically place the chip after it is finished. I read somewhere about using electrical tape to attach it to something, just not too sure. I don't want to place it somewhere & have it interfere or overheat.

What I did was secure mine down with electrical tape in a little gutter to the side.

See the little area in the black plastic to the right of the highlighted install area? The wiikey will fit there and not get in your way. I made the wires go through the upper right hand corner of the install area, between those two sockets.

Almost no chance of overheating there.
