So just to be clear,.. my covers, which have been the same covers I've had since November 2019,.. are suddenly too large and causing the issue?
Or is it that maybe the theme images are possibly causing it?
The covers are fine. I'm saying that it's likely your theme that's causing it.

If you backup your theme and resize a dozen of the larger images to 1x1 and then everything starts to work again then it'll confirm that it's a memory issue.

@biggzsizzle to see how much memory you are using, you can edit wiiflow_lite.ini and in the [DEBUG] section enable it with:
show_mem=yes
It was in my log file bud..

@blackb0x A little update: after image optimization for all backgrounds etc. Downloading covers, was perfect. I immediately tried to download the database,.. DSi error with a reload

Maybe you could rename your WiiFlow folders and then start over with a fresh copy of WiiFlow? That way you'll be back at the stock settings. Alternatively if you send me a copy of your theme then I'd test things and try to debug the issue if I experience the same problem.

@ca032769
Just finished my Project with 452 PAL GC and 1209 PAL Wii on a 4TB MyPassport WD Drive! Clearly WiiFlow Lite can handle the amount of games other then stated on github issues. No big problems so far for me :)

@ All
What do I have to change so that Wii game saves also end up on the HDD like GC saves?

It's in the download here, but I'd rather send you the optimized version and see what u think,...I'll get that together and uploaded asap

@blackb0x So, here's my No-Source version and the original Carbonix:

@biggzsizzle I can now confirm that it's caused by an out of memory error. Simply put, your themes consuming so much memory that there's not enough available to download wiitdb.zip.

If I disable "Use HQ covers", view some games and then attempt to download the database it'll work.

I'll see if I can optimise your theme so that it works with HQ covers.

is it possible to only have certain plugins or system icons available. I have so many different systems and I don't need them all...
From the main source_menu page, hit the Home button on the wiimote, the first option allows you to show which systems you want to see

I see hide source buttons but it only gives me the option for wii menu, arcade, retro consoles, handhelds, and retro computers. I was hoping for more specifically the consoles within these folders.

YEEESSSSS!!!

Thank you @blackb0x!! I owe U a beer, at the very least lol

@biggzsizzle Everything is looking and working great. Thank you for your work done here. I have a few background requests if you have any spare time. I'd love to see Colecovision & ScummVM get a background. C64 and Intellivision would be cool also. Very nice you have already included OpenBOR. Your theme is a welcome addition to WFL. Thanks again.

@fledge68 Is it possible that wii games also store the savegames on HDD like the GC saves from nintendont?

no not possible.

Long answer: You can use emunand but no, it is not like the way nintendont does. You will have to have a bit in depth knowledge to locate the saves and not all Wii games are compatible

So, I decided to to narrow down a playable SD-friendly setup, using only wiiflow and the wii games and gc games, roms etc.that I play the most, right? Used wbm to transfer the games, deleted my wiiflow_lite.ini just because I dont mind reconfiguring. Game populate, cache's all reloaded with no issue.
But not 1 wii game will load. The show the wiiflow wait_imgs, then reloads back into WiiFlow. Keep in mind nothing has changed except there's no usb anymore, everything configured for SD.
Welcome to WiiFlow WFL 5.4.8!

That might be your problem. :) I know you probably know all this, but just in case, first try to "Reload Cache." If that doesn't solve it, run through the basic variations… cIOS 249 / cIOS 250 / cIOS 251, each with Force Reload cIOS "ON" and then "OFF." I suggest this, only because I've had the same issue in the past when switching from USB to SD, and I found that a different cIOS setting did the trick. And I've never had good luck with cIOS 249 with an SD.
