sd:/apps/nintendont/boot.dol
or
usb:/apps/nintendont/boot.dol

maybe make sure the nintendont folder is not capitalized. Also make sure to update nintendont to the latest.

Thanks. I had capitalized Nintendont, but even after changing to lowercase I still get the same error message. I've attached a screenshot showing the path in wiixplorer; do you see something incorrect there?

I should have the latest versions. loader.dol downloaded and renamed from here:
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/loader/loader.dol

and meta.xml + icon.png from here:
https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/blob/master/nintendont/meta.xml

Do I need to have any plugins setup for this to work? I'm not interested in playing any emulated games on my Wii, so I have not added Wiimpathy's plugin database files to my SD card. I browsed through the contents of that pack a couple of times and can't find anything related to GameCube loading, but want to make sure I'm not overlooking something.

Edit: I also have the following WiiFlow Startup settings set:
Force Load cIOS: On
Force cIOS Revision: 248

I would've set that back with the older WiiFlow when using DIOS-MIOS. I'm not sure if it's needed now, but haven't changed it. Could that be related to this issue?

Edit 2: I tried setting that to Off / AUTO just for grins. Still get the same error with GameCube games, but now attempting to load Wii games completely freezes the system, so I'm going to leave that as-is. :-)

Thanks - appreciate the assistance.

everything looks correct. i dont know.

are you sure in main settings you have gamecube loader set to nintendont? are you sure in game settings you have gamecube loader set to default or nintendont?

if you have nintendont installed on SD can you move apps/nintendont folder and contents to usb and try again? or vice versa?

only other thing is edit wiiflow_lite.ini and under [DEBUG] set sd_write_log=yes and save it then run wiiflow and try to launch a gc game and exit wiiflow via the exit option. this create a file named wiiflow.log on the root of your sd card. copy and paste it here for me to see.

This was it. I had Nintendont specified in the main settings, but I didn't realize there was another option for that in the game settings, and it seems to default to Devolution. I changed it to Default (so it would presumably use the main setting), and GameCube games load fine now.

Thanks for the pointer. I'm all set now!

where did you download wiiflow? what version? do you have apps/wiiflow/imgs folder and contents? do you have apps/wiiflow/bins folder and contents?

Is the first partition of your usb device FAT32? are you using a flash drive/stick/ thumb drive?

Downloaded from Official github link.
Looks like it created all it needs on the sdcard and points everything from ini on the sdcard too
It has written on sd card apps/wiiflow/wiiflow_lite.ini
And on root /wiiflow/ with 19 folders inside
Ini points to sd card directories so i guess this is why usb boot fails hard
This is why it fails = http://dpaste.com/3W1BYAE
So here is a serious bug, Wiiiflow cant be run from usb without some tinkering.
- I must move everything it auto created back to usb
- i must edit those sd: to usb: but shall i named them usb0/1 or plain usb?

Theres no bug. You either had the apps/wiiflow folder still on sd or wiiflow couldnt detect and mount your usb device even though the hbc or forwarder could. So wiiflow defaulted and initialized to sd card. What kind of usb device is it? Besides if you have sd its best to put apps on sd and wii games on usb.

I did migrate back to sd. Nintedont was able to see the /games folder but wiiflow couldn't?
Also now on sd it cant see them either but still i can play gamecube games fine.
It doesn't let me change game partition to usb0 it is hardcoded to usb1

There is no usb0. Usb1 is the first partition on a usb device. Are your gamecube games on sd or usb?

@Wiimpathy please help! when using your wiituka plugin v2 the emulator won't remember my key bindings. I have to map the keys to my wiimote buttons every time. Is this how it works?

That'd be cool to know if it's missing or not. That's a good emulator. The virtual keyboard and the auto launching is really handy. A usb keyboard is a big bonus off course.

I've never tried the retroarch core.
The retroarch computer's cores aren't always wii friendly. No usb keyboard support. No wiimote pointing. Possibly missing virtual keyboard etc...
But I'd be curious to know about cap32_libretro usability.

@Tetsuo Shima , I have an idea you may be interested in. I have not tried it out yet however.

We technically should be able to get games like WiiROTT to show up alongside the other PC games in WiiFlow, if we utilize the Homebrew plugin found in Fledge's wfl extra plugins pack. Create a specific folder for this plugin to store its apps, such as SD:/apps/wiiflow_apps , define this path in the Homebrew plugin.ini romdir=, then add the Homebrew plugins' magic number to the list of magic numbers associated with PC Games in the PC/tier ini file.

The end result should show only the apps we placed in the wiiflow_apps folder appearing in the PC Games coverflow.

I do have a small worry though. An issue that may present itself is some apps needing to be placed specifically in SD:apps/ , rather than SD:apps/wiiflow_apps. If this is the case, we may be able to utilize Categories in some way to make only the apps we want to appear, rather than defining a separate path.

The problem is the wiirott app is basically a loader. you must select the games iwad file or a rtl file. it doesn't accept args to auto launch a specific iwad or rtl file. remember the plugin ini would be used to start the wiirott app.

vie this -

Thanks @Hakaisha that was a great idea. I always forget about the homebrew extra plugin. Well, I just realized that I should have used it for my Eduke32 plugin pack, instaed of creating 4 different magic numbers for Duke3D and its 3 add-ons. Maybe I should update it.
This could also avoid the constant need to edit the platform.ini file every time a new port for PC game is released.
It's too bad that WiiROTT won't work with arguments. Let's hope for a future support.
