noted and possible. had already considered it when i added backgrounds for sourceflow tiers.@fledge68 I know that you want to take a break and I absolutely respect your decision. But for the future, can I request a little feature to add to WFL?
The ability to use a different background for each coverflow.
I'm working on an alternate version of Hakaisha's Rhapsodii theme and I was thinking that it would be great to make console-based backgrounds for emulators. Something like this:
Or maybe this feature can be achieved using sourceflow Tiers?
@Wiimpathy Yup. That worked. Thank you! And, sorry if I was unclear. I'm running WiiFlow Lite off my 2GB SD card, but have all my ROMs, backups, emuNand, etc is stored on a 2TB USB drive. However, my wiiflow_lite.ini was having all the cache go to the SD card instead of USB. I just copied over all the files, and then changed the folder mapping.
And sorry to be a total pain in the butt, but I've got another question. This one is likely a matter of preference, but is there a definitive list of the current most optimal emulators per console? Presently, I'm running the following:
- NES: Retroarch-wii 1.7.5 w/ Nestopia core
- SNES: Retroarch-wii 1.7.5 w/ SNES9x 2010 (FKA SNES9x Next) [Kinda torn between this and the regular SNES9x core.]
- All Sega consoles (MS,SG-1000,MD/Genesis,GG,CD): GenPlus GX 1.7.5
- GB/GBC: VBA Gx 2.3.7 [I've heard people recommend the Gambatte retroarch core, but I had major problems w/ compatibility]
- GBA: Most recent stable mGBA build [I think this is universally heralded as the go-to GBA emulator over all the rest]
- Neo-Geo, CPS1/CPS2: Retroarch-wii w/ Final Burn Alpha cores [As far as I know, the only real option for this?]
Not even sure if this is the right place to pose this question, but I'd love some input.
- TGX16/PC Engine CD: This is one that I am totally lost on. There's too many options -- Hugo GX, WiiEngine, Retroarch cores, Wiimednafen (which I've never used at all)
The setting where removed, due to nintendont will autodetect it, as far as im concernceI don't if I missed this in settings is there anyway to to use "Native Controllers" option from Nintendont?
EDIT: found the setting in the ini file. I just edited the file manually
No and noHi Fledge, is there any way to move the banner area? Looking at the theme .ini file I see that you can change the TV frame position, but I can't find how to move the actual banner. Also, I was wondering if the game title can still be present when there is a banner, or if it just disappears. Thanks for your patience

It's probably better to focus on the first log. In the 2nd log I was trying everything. I installed v8, v10 b22 and 23, no difference between any of them for playing wii off the sd. The VC games still work fine, all my RetroArch systems work. GameCube works, but Wii crashes back to the source menu.
So it might be the emunand setting? I honestly don't fully understand the full implications of those settings. I get what they do superficially. I'll try messing with that.
released v5.1.0 today because of the wiimmfi mario kart wii update!
download here - https://github.com/Fledge68/WiiFlow_Lite/releases
make sure to update the bins folder.
included is the updated language files if you need them.
for vwii use modmii to make an emunand and showmiiwads to add your games/channels.
note: this guide will also work for wii users. but wii users could just use wiiflow lites nand dump feature to make an emunand instead of using modmii. i don't know if wfl's nand dump will work for vwii.
get modmii here - https://sourceforge.net/projects/modmii/files/
use Complete Softmod Guide's method 1 to make the emunand with modmii - https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/how-to-use/sneek/setup/nand-dump
use CSG's tutorial to get and setup showmiiwads - https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/useful-tools/showmiiwads
use CSG's tutorial to add your game wads to your emunand - https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/useful-tools/showmiiwads/showmiinand
once your emunand is all setup:
your emunand should be in your modmii folder. if you made it for SD it will be in COPY_TO_SD/nands/pl_us or for USB in COPY_TO_USB/nands/pl_us
note: if you are not from the US then the pl_us will be pl_xx. xx for your country.
for vwii you will need to copy the folder pl_us and its contents to sd:/vwiinands/ or usb:/vwiinands
for wii you will need to copy the folder pl_us and its contents to sd:/nands/ or usb:/nands
note: i may change the vwiinands back to nands in the near future.
now run wiiflow lite.
goto main settings.
on page 1 choose game partitions
set emu nands partition to SD or USB for where your emunand was copied to.
back to config page 1
on page 1 choose nand emulation settings.
now choose your pl_us nand and set emulation to partial for now
now back to main screen.
wiiflow lite should show your games with blank covers. if not go to home menu and do reload cache.
goto main settings.
choose download covers and titles.
now select to download covers
go back to main screen when done and your games should have covers now. and your done.
in the future if you decide to add a game to your emunand you can use wiiflow lite to install it to your emu nand.
goto main settings.
on page 1 choose nand emulation settings.
goto page 2 and select install wad.
find your wad and select it
and choose your emunand and click go to install it.
go back to main screen. if it doesn't show goto home menu and do reload cache.
wii game or wiiware/virtual console game on your emunand? So I went through the process of creating a nand using this method described. when I went to load a wii game it sent me to the HBC. I then dumped my nand using the wiiflow lite app and same thing, boot to HBC. Not really sure what to do in order to get things up and running.
