So I've configured WiiFlow Lite with the Snes9x GX Plugin, and most games work great. However, when I try to launch some games from WiiFlow, for example, Castlevania Dracula X, I get a message (in game screen) that says the following:

Please Connect Multiplayer 5 with 2P Side. When Super Scope or Mouse is connected with Multiplayer 5, Please take away these peripheries.

To be clear, this is a message that is part of the game, not an error message directly from the emulator software. However, if I reset the game from the Snes9x GUI or I load the game directly from the Snes9x GUI to begin with, the game loads as normal. For some reason loading the game through WiiFlow triggers some internal game error message to do with peripherals.

The impression I get is that the game rom either thinks I need to have a special peripheral connected to play the game or the game thinks I have a peripheral connected that I shouldn't, such as a super scope. Anyone know what the deal is?

I have updated the cheat codes on codes.rc24.xyz importing the ones that are hosted on gamehacking.org. They ported most of the geckocodes.org codes to that site, and people can contribute codes to gamehacking.org so there's some new codes for sure.

It'd be nice if gamehacking.org would have an API to download the codes. You can download a text file, but you can't download by game ID... I knew an API was being worked on, I sent a message about it yesterday but I haven't got a response yet.

I can verify this happens on my end as well using GX. However, using TX or RX, Castlevania Dracula X starts and plays normal. I believe the issue is isolated to GX. Im using latest version of GX to test and do not not know if older versions of GX have this behaviour. Honestly i use TX or RX for WFL and have never seen this before.

Could anyone help me? I am using vWii on Wii U and just made the jump from original wiiflow to this. I tried all versions and for some reasons only 5.4.1 and lower work for me 5.4.2 and onwards just won’t boot. It’ll show the wiiflow logo and show the loading screen and then just go back to the HBL or the main menu.

Thanks for the info, I'll switch to one of the forks. Is there a quick breakdown anywhere of what the differences are between RX and TX, and which one is better or if there are different situations where one is better than the other? I did a quick Google but couldn't find much, only the differences between GX and RX.

Aside from fonts, skin color. RX i believe uses Snes9x 1.52 as base and niuus optimized for different peripheral support and speed. TX uses Snes9x 1.58 or 1.60 as base. I honestly use TX over RX as WFL plugin for one reason only, when exiting a game TX immediately goes to splash/wait screen while RX makes you press Exit. I see no difference in performance or compatibility, and both emus support Satellaview.

@Powerful

When you say you replaced files as normal, are you installing completely new ...
SD:/wiiflow
SD:/apps/wiiflow

folders with completely new files? Or adding/replacing new files to existing folders?

Delete wiiflow.ini and wiiflow_lite.ini file located in apps/wiiflow folder to see if problem still exists

Okay so I did everything correctly but for some reason the new versions after the ones I said have a certain way the cios works so I downloaded the wiiflow startup manager and just tried everything that was listed until it worked and the usb loader I changed to 1 which I believe was also the issue. Either way I fixed it. If anyone has issues like that in the future I recommend using the startup manager app.

Is there a way to disable the "Total Games: " count that appears when you first enter a category? I tried editing English.ini under languages to delete the text "Total Games: %i" under main7 but it didn't seem to make any difference. If I set the language to a different language, such as French, then the text does change to that language though. I'm not sure if this is some sort of cache issue or if it just can't be disabled that way. I tried reloading the cache but it had no effect. Anyone know how to disable this text?

you can't disable it. you can change it in engish.ini but it must be at least 1 character long and you must set wiiflow language in main settings to english (not default).

Hmm, I've checked to make sure language is set to english (and I've tried default when that didn't seem to work) and no matter what I change main7 to, it never changes the text "Total Games: ". I'm not sure if it's a caching issue, but I've tried reload cache and it doesn't change anything. I've also tried changing the language in the loader from english to brazil and back in hopes of causing some sort of refresh or re-reading of the contents of the english ini file, but no luck.

Perhaps double check where config files are being saved/read from. Often I find that people have it on both sd and hdd (as a backup), edit the files in one location, but not the other, and the Wii is reading from the other un-updated device

Edit: it's a long shot, as you sound pretty savvy and it's unlikely this was overlooked, but thought I'd mention it anyway

I'm sorry to get upset, but why the hell do I keep getting black screen random freeze, etc with Wiiflow Lite? Playing with SD Card.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Most of all, I am currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles and there it happens all the time that it works and sometimes not at every start. IOS 58 with cios 249 always. I've also tried others the same. :(

Ill test this on my side. I made a list of games that needed particular cIOS to run properly and posted it way back, but cant seem to dig it up. IIRC Xenoblade was one of the games.
Cool, well as I said I use the Wiiflow Lite function to force cios. I have no problem with that. By default, I use cios 249 base 57.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Incidentally, I also tried the Configurable USB Loader and there is no IOS 58. There, cios 249 is also used by default. And that's where my backups run like Xenoblade Chronicles.

Here is the link previously mentioned. I tested those with USB HDD and sine then i have the Xenoblade NTSC instead of PAL copy. I have tested with SD a half dozen times and it's booted fine but have not played into the game much. When are you experiencing issues (how far into the game?) Ill upload my sysCheck if you want to take a look but think yours will be very similar...my startup settings...

Force Load cIOS = Off
Force cIOS Revision = Auto
USB Port = 0
Mount SD only = No

Also...

NAND Emulation = Full
Saves NAND Emulation = Off

So I started Xenoblade Chronicles all over again and it always hangs up in the same place, in a fight scene. Is that an SD card issue? Otherwise I switch to USB Loader GX. Or is it due to some patch?

Does the SD CARD have poorer compatibility?

Im not sure about the SD compatibility, but i wouldn't think so. Did you delete the save file before you restarted? The opening fight scene is where it is hanging? I am not experiencing any issues but am unsure when/where they occur for you.
