One other issue that I discovered yesterday when I was testing some of the FBA games that use retroarch, is that when you select some games in WiiFlow to play, it will code dump; however, if you select a game in WiiFlow that doesn't code dump and then change over to the other game using the retroarch menu, it will play and not dump. I've only notice this happen with 1943 and Trojan so far.
So for example, starting 1943 from WiiFlow, code dumps. Starting another game that works, and then switching to 1943 within retroarch is fine.
I'm using the most recent fba dol plugin from Abz pack which I also noticed doesn't have the RGUI like the other CPS, NEO cores and such. I can only assume this is to help with memory resources?
So I resolved this issue, by grabbing the most recent copy of the FBA core dol from the main retroarch site (http://www.libretro.com/index.php/downloads/). I just replaced it with the other one that I grabbed from Abz pack. Now the games that were crashing before aren't crashing anymore and it has the RGUI menu. It also resolved an issue with 1942 where the directional controls didn't work. I'm not sure why Abz has the older version in his pack, but if there is a good reason, I would love to know. Maybe it has higher compatibility with more games?
