MW3 works just fine, tested it now again, just make sure you use a base 57 cios. Kirbys adventure should work as well according to my testers, make a clean install again if possible, oh and dont use any nand emulation for testing.

Amazin thank you so much FIX
I'll try this new version right away...
I noticed an error with the "extract nand" function if you try after a clean install (before manually editing the nand and save game paths). It might be best if possible have wiiflow set the default partition to 0 when data on sd and 1 when data on USB automatically?
(This error was with a clean r822 install and once I set the partition to 0 in .ini the error disappeared. I didn't try to extract nand from games settings but afterwards from nand it worked fine.)
And game save emulation and loading wii game off games[sd] didn't work strangely... I'll check the new version though :) and thanks again for latest r830 fixes

I seem to be having the oddest problem lately, and the route of it all is my HDD automatically sleeping.

Before I used IOS222 and IOS223 to load Wii games and both of them always keep the HDD active. However to make WiiFlow faster, I've reverted to using IOS249 and IOS250, which work perfectly fine, and decreases the load time by a significant amount.

However if I don't do anything for a bit, the HDD led turns off, even in the middle of a game. But it's only present on IOS249. IOS250 seems to work a bit longer, but ultimately it still turns off.

I have no idea why it does it but IOS222 seems to be the best compatible IOS for my HDD. I don't mind buying another HDD that will work better with IOS249 and not automatically sleep, I just need some suggestions on what to purchase.

Uhm, I give you guys the time to change the settings with this version now so its better than the old one, the image still gets loaded fine here and I can play the game after adjusting what needed.
I cannot get Wiiflow to store covers on USB, I modified the wiiflow.ini in sd/apps/wiiflow to "data_on_usb=yes", but it still won't detect it and if I re-download, it goes to SDcard.

How can I fix this? My HDD is NTFS if that matters.

Hey, fledge68, love the r828 addition. I was actually about to make a feature suggestion with something similar.

Is there something we need to edit in our source_menu.ini file for this to work?

Also, (as a further enhancement) would it be possible to have a setting for each button in the source_menu.ini file to tell it which partition to use?
For me, I have some minor space issues and with larger images like Sega CD or PSX as well as some larger media player files like movies it's easier for me to have some on one partition and some on another (or on the SD card). It would be even easier if I could have a separate source menu button for each partition.

(Particularly, if this could be implemented for ALL source menu buttons, even GameCube games, I have games I use with Devolution on my SD card and games I use with DiosMios on my HDD and having a quick source menu button to choose which one would be more convenient than pressing B + (-) to rotate through all my partitions until I get to the right one.)

EDIT : Also, @AbdallahTerro, just looking through your masterpiece collection and it looks like you have up to Devolution r168 in there. There's now a r169 that reportedly adds GC keyboard emulation through a USB keaboard. Might be a nice addition. ;)
No need to edit or add anything to the source menu.ini. For those plugins/emus that roms are on a different partition than the default (usb1) you will need to go to them and set the partition once and from then on it should be saved to change to that partition automatically whenever you select that plugin/emu. The partition saves are in wiiflow.ini under PLUGINS/PARTITION. You can edit them manually if you want but don't really need to. This was actually Abdallahterro's idea since he had the same issue with sega CD and PSX as you. So don't forget to thank him too.

This is my test: Default settings and clean install (WF r830 - d2xv10-alt-53- 4.2U)

Party Night: Freezed after presentation (PAL)
Tom Clancy´s - HAWX 2: Black Screen immediately (PAL)

Ok, so I've been playing with the WiiU and found a few things.

Is there a WiiU compatible forwarder channel for WiiFlow? I'm using 'Carbonik-FIX94v11d-forwarder-DWFA.wad' but it hangs upon start. I have Wiiflow r825 pretty-much working on the WiiU in Wii emulation mode but have to run it through the HBC. I tested Mario Party 8 and it ran perfectly.

Also when I quit a game it hangs and does not return to WiiFlow. I I set it up to return to HBC it works fine. I assume that's because the WiiFlow forwarder channel isn't working in some way that the WiiU needs. Any thoughts on that?

I am running the d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii installed cIOS in slots 249, 250 and 251 with a base of 56, 57 and 58 respectively. Using a single partition FAT32 volume. Tried running it with an SD and without and it does the same thing.

And if I have my USB connected to the WiiU when it starts up it asks to format it (You have connected a USB storage device that has not been set up for use with this console. Do you want to format the device so that it can be used with this console? Please note that this will delete all data currently saved to the USB storage device... <Cancel> <Format>)

Any idea on how to stop that from showing up? Last thing I want the kids to do is accidentally format the 2TB drive since it takes so long to copy.

And when you launch Wii mode, the hard disk shuts down. You have to unplug the drive and power it back on.

TIA

Pick up a v14 forwarder, v11 doesn't work for newer revs of the 'flow.

Edit: If you use CustomizeMii, here is a link to a v14 wiiflow boot.dol you can use to replace your current one in any of your favorite wiiflow forwarders. :)

Nope, please make sure everything is cleaned up, set to the default shit, dont use any extensions or whatever, thats the only thing I can suggest.

What filesystem are you using for your wii game? WBFS, FAT32 or NTFS..
Also, how is your hdd partitioned?
And do you use emusave with those games?

Edit: I will try those games too, but i can only test on a FAT32 partition..i only got one on my HDD.
Edit 2: Party Night does not seem to be a valid title...did you make a typo?

@Fix94 I tried r828 and I'm still getting the booter code dump any time I launch an e-NAND title on my USB HDD. Reverting to 4.0.4 launches titles normally. Since SD logging doesn't seem to be working for some reason maybe I can try wifi-gecko? Would that give you any info you're looking for or does it have to be an SD log?

I know there's more info on SD logs I think but I remember you adding more to wifi gecko as well. I also put my wiiflow.ini in a code spoiler on pg. 544 if you need a look at it ;) Thanks for looking into this, maybe it's something on my end? I always make clean prior to compiling, but do you think some kind of corruption is occuring upon compile?

Ok... I have a 2 TB WD HDD... 2 Partitions.. FAT (apps) Primary, active and NTSC (wbfs - games) primary, emusave is off... is a D2X or WF problem.??? is a ios reload problem..?? All of this games are working fine in CFG... :(

Thanks for replay..

Well,I just tried CoD MW3 and Kirby's Adventure from my normal Wii (using a FAT HDD) and everything loads perfectly with r830.
I tried the same 2 games with vWii afterwards (using a NTFS HDD) and the games have the same problems (CoD freezs on loading screen after selecting a mission and Kirby has a black screen)!

Wont work either, all forwarders are broken currently, they changed the boot method.
Good to know, thanks!

I have it successfully returning to HBC so hopefully a new batch of forwarders will be possible.

The thing that is concerning me is the request to format the drive every time you turn on the WiiU. I am going to attach a 750GB portable I have and see what it does. I am hoping it formats it as FAT32 and just writes some config file :)

I still can't get it to detect data_on_USB .. I changed WiiFlow.ini in apps/wiiflow but it still won't detect the USB covers, and if I re-download it goes to SD, how do I fix this?

As you may seen use r830, I fixed it there. And for sd logging, no idea atm whats wrong with it.
Sorry FIX, it was still a no go, I managed to get a wi-fi Gecko log. Hope it helps.

Only thing I can make out of this is that WGSE needs IOS 55, which I have as the base at cIOS 248, but it reloaded into cIOS249, don't know if that's a problem or not.

Also another pic of the dump, it looks about the same but I'm no coder so I'm providing it anyway in case it helps. If you don't need it let me know and I'll remove it. Thanks again.
