Can't get OG Xbox games to run on abadavatar 360

Hi, I've been trying everything to get Halo Combat Evolved to run on my 360 but no matter what I do it doesn't work, I tried removing the plugins from the launch ini, I've used different xefu files, got the xbox compatibility files and not a damn thing works so I need new options

In the same exact spot except it's only certain games (like Republic Commando) that always get the "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again" error, whereas others (Sands of Time) will work on an initial boot, yet give the same error no matter what after attempting anything with any other OGX games until I do a hard power cycle.

Doesn't help that the MrMario2011 video on this is unusually vague about key details, such as under what directory structure exactly to copy the games over or what might cause any common errors. Honestly a pretty bad tutorial, though it also seems like Xefu Spoofer is held together with toothpicks and gum and everyone just pretends it isn't? Every thread on it I've found is full of answers that don't work, or just gets no replies like this one. Exceptionally maddening experience/waste of many hours of my life.

i had this problem on one my modded xbox 360. the way i fixed was by running og xbox stuff off an usb.

What's your install process/folder structure for this, exactly? I installed my original Xbox games the same way as 360 games (copying to the \Hdd1\content\000... directory,) and then they'd appear under \Hdd1\[my directory for original Xbox games]\.

Would I also just be able to cut/paste the folders over, or would I need to reinstall games from scratch? Will they still be able to find my existing save data?

I think I ran the OG Xbox games off an USB.

So setup up everything normal. So when content is scanned, it points to the USB. Where my games content is.

my Phat xbox 360 is in storage now, ill look at it later when i get the chance. but for now do what i told you.

Where do I make it "point to the USB" in Aurora settings?

Press start on your controller. Go to content. Go to manage paths. Go to add. Select "change".now select your USB. Then save.

then scan now.

Make sure your USB is formatted to Fat32.
