As I said above, the current release of wiiflow, you can not have it run and launch games, that is its most basic functionaility and a lot of the time it crashes doing this, so how will releasing something that restores this albeit possibly breaking certain customisation options or whatever else. If it can run fine and boot games, I can't see why it would be left when the current "stable" release is actually less "stable" than previous releases
As you say, they have personal lives, other projects, so you never know, wiiflow may well get fully dropped regardless of them saying it won't. Just can't see why they are holding on to something that is better than what is currently out.
Donkey Plonk, i personally would like to thank you for your input, and i also noticed people reporting the same things you pointed out.
Never the less i like to comment on a few of your comments:
About Wiiflow being abandoned: Be assured that the wiiflow team has not stopped and is not out to fail the project.
Anyone i talk to from the team still has faith that the devs will deliver a new stable wiiflow version.
About the testers: they do more than just test, some of them also are wiiflow themers, they put a lot of their spare time into testing and playing. The devs also test every bit of code they have written.
Now about the "stable" remark, i always install wiiflow r304 on my friends wii, so far i haven't got any complaints from them and i know at least a dozen people that do not have the crashes you describe.
I am not saying that you are doing something wrong, but r304 is a beta, as Spidy pointed out, and we help a lot of people in the IRC channel wich have similar problems, we can not help all people but the one's we can help usually have problems with their setup.
The point here is that there are many different Wii setups and it is a challenge to make a usbloader which will work with every Wii setup, as we also can see from other USB loaders like USBloader GX or Neogamma.
Wow, what a discussion we get about this, let me finish by saying that it is alway good to give your opinion or your comment about homebrew, but you must have said something wrong to trigger this kind of response Donky Plonk.
I know a lot of the ppl in the IRC channel and normally they are alway trying to help and not telling someone off.
If that is not the case then my apologies for that, too bad we cannot control everybody on the IRC channel.
Anyway, i do hope that when the final new release is there, you still want to try it.
Regards,
