Hacking WiiFlow - an open source GUI USB-Loader

Hello,

Great loader and I appreciate all the work people have put into this. However, I am having one problem with fanarts. I manage to get the fanarts to show when I start Wiiflow using the default theme and I am able to change themes and display fanarts properly. I had to recreate default.ini as the one that came package with v2.0 r45 gave me a code dump whenever I seleted the default theme.

However my problem is when I start Wiiflow with Benjay's or Jiwah's themes, whenever I click on a game that has a fanart I get an exception dsi error and Wiiflow reboots me back to the Wii menu in 5 seconds.

This happens when launching from a forwarder or homebrew channel. I am using the official v2.0 r45 release and let it create all the folders, files, and wiiflow.ini. I have tested all versions of the r45 (except 249) release and also compiled and tested all versions of r78 (except 249) and it still code dumps.
Also tested with 2 western digital portable hard drive.

I'm currently on 4.2U, 249 v17, 250 v19 base 37, 222 v4 base 38 merged 37, 223 v4 base 38, 224 v5 base 57.

Sorry if this has been asked before and forgive my noobiness for I don't know how to post a pic here.

Thanks for the link TeenTin..unfortunately that version didn't work for me.
However, I believe I found my problem. It has to do with the size of my wiiflow.ini file. What I found is that when my wiiflow.ini is larger than 50 KB I am able to boot Wiiflow with Benjay's or Jiwah's themes, however when I select a game that has a fanart, Wiiflow code dumps.

When I boot Wiiflow with the default theme fanarts show up correctly. However, I found that when my wiiflow.ini file was larger than 150 KB, I am unable to boot Wiiflow with the default theme and it just gives me the code dump above.

For the moment, I will just leave my games uncategorized and keep wiiflow.ini below 50 KB.

If someone can test the above scenario and report back with their findings that will be great.

I hope I'm not going to be semi-slammed for this, dunno if there is a recommended setup or anything as far as the cIOSes go. Looking at Hermes v5.1 and Waninkoko v19, would a good setup be 222 b38, 223 b37, 224 b57, 249 b38, 250 b37? Not sure on 202, or what uses it, I need to look around a bit for that. I thought there used to be a problem with Monster Hunter Tri using 223, which was why I was looking at 250 b37 for online use. Then use 223 for music, occasional games using 249, and perhaps using 224 as the main program because the 57 was supposed to be faster for USB loading? I'm pulling random things together to try to figure this out, and would like opinions for this. I do know that the cIOS options are very much personal preference, but I would believe that there would be some kind of standard overall 'best' kind of setup. Thanks for your time again!

222 b38, 223 b37, 224 b57, 249 b38, 250 b37 is indeed a good setup. run the 249 version of wiiflow then. This is my exact personal setup actually lol.

The problem is the theme your using does not match the build you are using. Come to irc and get the correct themes for you version of wiiflow. New pieces to wiiflow were added and if the theme you are using does not have the necessary parts the code will stack dump on you. I had the same problem since i was using the latest beta r78 and an old carbonik theme. Once i got the correct version of the theme all was fine. Hope this helps.

cheat codes: When you download them through wiiflow, you do not have an option to check for new ones for that game. Once you download them, that's it, no option to download again. What happens if new cheats get added?

Well, until (or if) they fix it, you can just do what I've done: Use CFG-Loader, set the directories like the WiiFlow ones, and redownload your cheats with CFG-Loader. Or delete the .txt with WiiXPlorer.

I guess this issue is fixed in latest revision rev79.
I cant provide any dol's, but if you want them, stop over irc and they'll be there if you want to test them.

If you have a non HQ cover and then download the HQ cover later does the non HQ cover get deleted or is it still there?

Just wondering because the wasted space by having two covers could add up.
