- No matter what I do the wiiflow folder is always created in the NTFS(2) partition with the wbfs games folder..and Apps folder stays in the fat32(1).which is fine and works great..I just like to have things seperate..no biggie unless its wrong

Hello,

before starting wiiflow for the first time :

put an empty wiiflow folder at the root of the FAT32 partition you want to use and wiiflow will use it.
if you check the sources (source\menu\menu.cpp), when wiiflow does not find a "wiiflow" folder (even empty), it checks for a "wbfs" folder (and use the same partition for its data) BEFORE trying to check the first writable partition. So, even if you have a nice primary FAT32 partition, it will automatically switch to your NTFS partition (it's not a bug, it's a feature ;))

putting an empty folder will tell wiiflow where you want it to store its data files.

4.1e wii with test prior and with d2x6

Kirby Adventure code dumps when it was fine yesterday
Modern Warfare 3 stuck in loading

I tried everything to get priiloader to work for wiiflow

It stopped working when I upgraded to 415 using the new dols

I am reading that these are now compressed...do I have the wrong prii dol?
I have downloaded a bunch of the new priiloader forwarder dols. from here: http://www.wiiflowiki.com/Wiiflow/forwarders
Orange & Lightning do those work? I'll try them all if have to

Started wii with reset held, Load/Install file, selected the dol downloaded,
Changed settings to load installed file.
I also tried "delete installed file" and tried again
I tried using the 415.dol renamed to wiiFlow.dol

I get a black screen that hangs until hard power off

My installation is simple:
1TB HD
Part1 - Fat32 with apps & wiiflow folders
Part2 - NTFS with wbfs folder

Clean install:
Delete all folders in Fat32(1)
Create new folder: apps/wiiflow
Create new folder: wiiflow
Copy boot.dol (415) into new empty folder apps/wiiflow

Start Wiiflow using installed green forwarder channel

All works perfect... covers games, no crashes.

I just miss the quick start of prii

Hello - has the snow in NL cleared?

I'm going away for Christmas and taking my wii games with me. I want to be able to download the covers etc as I fiddle with the hdd setup - can I point wiiflow.ini to the hdd somehow? I've downloaded all the GameTDB covers and had a look through wiiflow.ini ... it seems that I can extract the covers to a similar folder structure and then point wiiflow to the usb (using "usb2://") but one of the parameters has me foxed that's "{loc}" what's that?

Thanks as always in advance ...

Oh yes, if you're in the UK then Asda's selling wiimote plus at a very good price of £26.97!! I've had a pretty poor experience with buying fakes by accident, so if anyone knows another outlet that sells them at a better price then please let me know.

cwolfey,
the 415.dol needs to be named boot.dol and be placed in \apps\wiiflow\ for it to work correctly

I got that, its there, and I can start wiiflow with the channel on main screen no problem, play games...see all covers

I know that part is correct, because If I do a clean install with boot.dol in the proper folder it makes all the new folders and works correctly,
just cant get the wii to load wiiFlow when it starts, when I install the dol file using prii loader.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the holidays! Thought I would make something to help me get in the mood when I turn the wii on!

Here is a screenshot of the new holiday priiloader:

Wiiflow Priiloader Dol

cwolfey, maybe try stopping into the irc channel and we can try and help get your issue resolved.

OK..this is wierd..may be you can shed some light...been playing with this for hours, just on principal!

I took a new Hard Drive, formatted the same exact way,

copied the same files and folders over to it exactly..

And, yes now the priiloader dol works! I dont know why...And I have the files and settings side by side to see what the difference is ...and nothing I can see??

But I do now see you new holiday wiiflow splash screen..
I dont know how or why?

qucik question can i play disc with this?

What do you mean? It can play original discs ofcourse, an icon appears at the bottom to allow you select and start. If you mean play games you've burnt yourself, then no..

Hey, anyone know what the format for the custom_titles.ini should be? Can I just rename the titles.txt file from GameTDB to get some sort of improved name functionality or is it more complicated than that?

Use something like this for custom_titles.ini (there MUST be an empty line at beginning, and colour cases don't work on latest versions)
Code:
[TITLES]

#Wii Games
KMCP01=Mario Kart Wii
R3GXUG=Crazy Mini Golf
RKIENR=Ice Hockey
R3HP6Z=Hugo: Hula Holiday

#WiiWare
WILP=Monkey Island 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal
WISP=Monkey Island 2: Siege Of Spinner Cay
WIEP=Monkey Island 3: Lair Of Leviathan
WIYP=Monkey Island 4: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood
WIRP=Monkey Island 5: Rise Of The Pirate God

[COVERS]

#Wii Games
KMCP01=#FF0000FF
RLBPWR=#FF0000FF

Actually if you have an older Wii ( like me :D ) that can actually read burnt backup copies then yes, you can use it both for original and DVD-R/RW disks. That goes both for Wii and Gamecube games (with a cMIOS installed.)

I need to think about how to respond to this....... :wtf:

... Unless he was talking about using an external USB DVD reader to read disks, that can only be done with cIOS 222 or 223 so WiiFlow can't ... the answer would be "no" then. You would have to use uLoader ... I think I'm getting sidetracked, though.

Anyway, thanks for the custom_titles.ini help.

Working on a new commit soon, but I dont know when I'll be able to commit it to google code since my internet is shut off right now because I couldn't pay the bill. Hopefully I'll be back online soon, or I'll commit it from my neighbors or the library, see you all then! And if I'm not back before then, Merry Christmas!!

I did a quick search on this earlier and the last reference I've seen made to 4k sector sizes and HDDs was in April. Has there been any advancement made in working with them? I'm looking to get a 2TB HDD later in the day (after I get some sleep) and I was looking into the Iomega, but according to the reviews on Amazon it would fall into that 4k sector size issue. Should I just go with the Seagate instead, as I believe that does not? Thanks for everything to the entire team that has continued to improve upon my favourite loader!

cwolfey, these newer forwarders a quite a bit faster, I'm wondering if it tries to access your hdd before it is fully initialized? Would maybe explain why one drive works and the other doesn't. All of the priiloader forwarders use the same dol, only have a different splash screen graphic, so they should in theory act the same.

Oh, and Merry Christmas Miigotu!

Friendly reminder that a few spare dollars goes a long way, especially this time of year. Please donate, I'm going to!

Hello and quick one:

From what cIOS should wiiflow be loaded and why does it matter?

Thanks!

P.S.: Let me add another question, while we are at it:

What is the syntax of the meta.xml argument to specify the folder in which the wiiflow dol resides?

The reason I want it is because I have a bunch of game shortcut channels created with Crap, that I like to use. However, with the recent wiiflow versions the forwarder that Crap uses no longer works. Since I would like to continue using those channels, I keep an old copy of wiiflow around to be able to launch them from the shortcuts. If there is an alternative to Crap (aka WiiGSC) to create shortcuts, that would be good to know too.
