Thanks so much for that, I'll try it out and post back my impressions!

edit: Could you please tell me where the ROM files go as I can't get the emulator to see them. They are in .pce format and I've tried putting them in a folder called roms, and in the root directory too but nothing.

Nvm I got it working.

It looks superb, it does look as if bilinear filtering is still enabled though, it looks just like my N64 through RGB at 240p and that has similar filtering. Is there any way to remove the bilinear filter? If so I think it could look even nicer than it does.

Thanks a lot!

You're right guys, maybe it's a matter of taste but I usually prefer visible pixels too.
I made a quick test on my CRT TV, you can try it here: Wiiengine1.5BB-Test240p

It's in 240p by default, and there's no option in emu to change resolution yet (don't know if I'll do it, we'll see).

Wiimpathy!
Thanks soooo much!
I will try this version during the weekend.

However I would like to ask in advance after reading "cloudskipa" message...
If there is a way on the code to remove/turn off the bilinear (it's a GPU feature)
it could be yet more awesome.

And man...
Seriously, really thanks!!

Regards,
Cospefogo.

Thanks for your comments!

About this bilinear filter, I'm not sure if it'll work well cause I can't fully test it.
Maybe you have component cables, NTSC...(my Wii is PAL and original cables
with old CRT)

I'm not a great specialist of all this video stuff, and a little tired right now so
I'll see what can be done ( perhaps send test version in PM to avoid polluting
the forums).

Wiimpathy thanks so much! Last night I ran some comparisons with other emulators and tried playing SMSplus in 240p with bilinear filtering enabled and it looked exactly the same as this 240p build you made. So if you could turn it off then it would be amazing, really it would make all the difference to this emulator for some people who use CRT TV's. Thanks so much for listening.

One other small thing I did notice is that the vertical scaling doesn't quite match the 240p, now I'm not sure why that is so I looked up on Wikipedia and discovered the native vertical resolution used for the majority of PCE gaes was 239 pixels, so that may explain it, however I read that the SNES used exactly the same resolution but for some reason Snes9X GC doesn't suffer this scaling problem, it's only minor and I'm not sure it can be fixed? but I can live with this issue.

Thanks again!

I am interested in trying this emulator but I need to know a couple things. Is this better then HugoGX and does CD rom games have CD music playback? Thanks!

Thanks Wiimpathy. If you don't mind, I would like to give more input about the 240p mode.

The problem is not the bilinear filtering itself, but the fact that there is some kind of (unnecessary) aspect ratio correction going on, blurring the picture and creating artifacts.

For example, take a look at the title screen of Military Madness. If you press the RUN button, the screen will scroll vertically and if you pay attention on the blue planet, you will see some flickering.

In the Wii version of Hugo there is an option to turn on the aspect ratio correction and it creates the exactly same problem.

I'm really thankful to you, Wiimpathy. But if you could correct this small problem, it would be perfect.

Yeah the aspect ratio is sadly not 1:1. Hugo GX surprised me as it uses 1:1 resolution even on games like R-type which uses a different resolution to the majority of games on the PCE.

Was there ever a fixed version for this? I'm using Wiiengine now and would love a perfect 240p version.
