Hi,

I've got a Toshiba Stor.E Basics 500GB USB 3.0 & 2.0 and in the "Wii USB Devices Compatibility List" post in the wiki (http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List) , it's said for this hdd :"Was initially as the Art4. Fixed by adding drive to usb.ids in the root directory of the harddrive and can now use CFG with FAT part." As he say, now it works like Art4, that mean I have to plug the hdd when the usb loader ask me for a hdd.

But what does it mean : "adding drive to usb.ids in the root directory of the harddrive"?

Thank you for your answer,

cheers,

Etchira

Hey,

I've the same issue :( I can start usb loader gx by leaving the hdd disconnected until it searchs for devicese, but every time i leave a game to the menu, I have to repeat this procedure.. very uncomfortable..
When I connect the HDD (NTFS, 1 Part.) before the wii is started, i can browse it with the wii explorer, but when wiiflow, usb loader gx oder cfg ist started, it freezes.
Can anyone please provide me instructions? :( The HDD itself works fine when disconnected before booting, it would be a mess to buy a new one just because of that issue!

Thanks for your help!

By the way, here is my syscheck report (it's german, but i guess the important notes are understandable):

I had the same problems with USB Loader GX when it came to the Toshiba model of HDDs.

To be honest I'd just stay away from them, they don't seem to like the Wii very much, that or the current cIOSes don't like Toshiba much.

I managed to solve my problem by using WiiFlow precompilled to using Hermes cIOS222. It has more efficient HDD detection.

I've never had any issue using my toshiba 1tb with wii games (dios mios is another story) For reference I use the latest d2x cIOS' and load from 249. No clue about this usb.ids though, very interested in what it is & how to do it.
