Hacking Wii Update: 3.3U Out

Hmm, I ran Muzar's Wii Shop and IOS51 installer and when I go to the shop channel, it just loads for a few seconds and kicks me back to the menu. Ran the IOS update too.

You know with Ninty blocking the Shop Channel for those who don't update (me included) it just sounds like they're asking for more piracy...

I have purchased every WW/VC game that is currently on my Wii, but by blocking the Shop Channel I can no longer do this...

Now it would seem that installing WADs would be the easier thing to do...

And I know a work-around is available, I just don't want to install anything on my Wii without knowing the full effects (including the bad ones) first.

Is anyone getting dns errors with tona's Shop Channel and IOS51 installer? Can't download 18 files for Shop Channel. Could download for IOS51 after several trial and errors. I can download the files from my PC though, so I think it's not a overload issue on Nintendo servers!

Worked for me. Maybe nintendos server is overstrained. Try it again later...

Walked out of the room for a moment during the "Adding Content Id" portion of the shop install, so I can't say for sure. I'm running it again and this time watching it like a hawk.

3.3U, Wiikey, nothing else fancy.

Bleh, I reran IOS51 again and it worked fine. Must have errored out the first time and I just didn't notice it.

I blame my wireless network.

I also tested Muzer's v2 install of this package and it seems to work just fine on my PAL Wii with 3.2E.

Ok, what the hell is going on... I didn't install 3.3b, but I still can't install any WADs... giving me ret -17xx error... something about not being able to read the file...

I installed Tetris Party YESTERDAY! Played some online matches, went to install that new Art Style game, went to install, and POOF... NOTHING...

So, what's my options now? Just wait? I was going to do some WAD editing, put the blue topped loader in the red topped loaders channel, just for the channel effects... but now that's pootched... I can't even UNINSTALL channels!

Do you have the Wad Manager 1.21??

Did you downgrade from 3.3b?

If not, and you still have the signing bug on the other IOSes... try removing your current cIOS and install another one.

Try tona's installer. It worked nicely on the first try for me.

tonas installer is much less noob friendly lol. where do i put the files etc, do i use twilight or hombrew channel. thanks

to use tonas app, just rename the *.dol to boot.dol and put it under \apps\IOS51
and start it through the HBC.

The shop channel has just started to work now. I hard reset my wii. i.e. unplugged it. reinstalled ios51 just for kicks, thinking it may have something to do with it, and went to the shop and it didnt ask for a update and it works, im still on 3.2E, maybe a little bug or something but it works now. Thanks guys/gals

1. Open the apps folder on your SD card.
2. Create a new folder. Name it "Shop Installer" or whatever you want to call it.
3. Put InstallShopIOS51.dol in the "Shop Installer" folder, and rename it to boot.dol.
4. Load in HBC.

Installs IOS51. I think if you don't have it installed, the Wii will restart if you try to start Shop Channel.
