Ok, I have a chipped US Wii. I accidentally updated to 3.3U (because I wanted to go to Wii Shop Channel and thought I was getting to the old 3.3, didnt knwo I would get the new 3.3). Anyways, I was wondering since I have a chipped Wii, is there anything I can run to downgrade the firmware?

Here is something out of WiiGators Blog. just in case you missed it.

- It installs as IOS249 v6. No uninstall is required if you have v6 or lower.
This means there should be no problems if you had a cIOS installed and then installed the update.

there will likely be issue(S) with the install, this is true, but marcan will work them out. the fact that the fakesign bug is in boot1 is true, and relevant, but this update will likely have some affect on the installation, you just don't need to worry 'cuz there is no doubt he has ways to get around that, as I'm pretty sure he's said when he talked about BootMii and future updates a few weeks ago. althought it is good that the bug is in boot1's, we don't control boot1 (there isn't much to control anyways)...and so it won't play an integral role in the install.

Looks like marcan has already answered this on the BootMii thread on hackmii.com.

From the link;
"@Deozaan.
Nintendo didn’t block BootMii - they can’t. What they did is block normal BootMii installs, which is fine by me because we have several exploits to make it work anyway. When BootMii-Core comes out it’ll work on updated Wiis."

Hopefully this means that the same methods available to install bootmii could be used to install the HBC on an updated wii.

i just recently (2 days ago) had to send in my wii for the second time because it couldnt read brawl very good lately. I had all that stuff installed, BUT i reformatted before i sent it in... does this mean if they do a system update, i will be phucked? (I had 3.2) NOOO!O!O!OO!OO!O!

Well I still get an error saying the Nintendo Server is down let people have assured me it's not. I don't think it helped the last time I visited, the Wii Shop, it was set to Japanese. >_<

Well I'm going to update my brothers Wii with the latest CISO and see if his Wii Channel is working.

Well installing 'cIOS36_rev5-Installer' before updating did bugger all. But his can connect to the Wii Shop Channel.

So why the **** can't mind load the damn channel?

Why do you want to do the update?? Everyone is saying not to do it, I did it because......err......well cause I'm soo stupid and I tought it'll be fun to see what's new and then do the downgrade, but if you can avoid this, DO NOT UPDATE, install cIOS_fix.wad, install starfall, close your windows and doors in your house, and grab a gun..!!!

oups! I cross the line...lol

To see if his Wii connected to the Wii Channel and it did. My brother hardly uses his Wii anyway so he just let me borrow his Wii.

The update has buggered something on my Wii that it won't connect to the Shop Channel. So I can't buy anything or pirate any VC/WiiWare games. I'm pretty screwed at the moment.

Just delivering the message, so don't shoot the messenger! Supposedly, its for people who have not updated, but wanted to still use the WiiShop Channel.

Again, don't hate me if someone uses this and it doesn't turn out to work.

Looks good.

I'll give it a shot. And post my results.

IOS51 installed successfully (existence confirmed by Anytitle Deleter) . But the Wii Shop Install failed.

The wii shop install takes a long time, you should leave it for a bit, it looks like it freezes but it's actually downloading big files.

I am the creator of the app.

EDIT: It seems someone else might be having the same problem. Methinks some investigation is needed.

HBC.

The Wii Shop installer failed during download, so I'll blame my crappy internet connection on that. Unless someone can pin the problem on the installer. =P

During the download it stopped and I got some screen that said an EXCEPTION has occured, or something like that.

Then it gave me a code dump.
