Hello I recently picked up a wii u and have read up on installing cfw and have done alot of mods in the past but this will be my first wii u. The wii u I have is on 5.4.0 U and after reading I think the best approach would be to do a system update to 5.5.2 then proceed with the haxchi method. Any advice would be greatly appreciated if I should go another direction. Thanks
Yeah, 5.5.2 to Haxchi is your best bet unless you own game that has version 5.5.1 on the disc. I personally have 5.5.2 with Haxchi, and everything works fine.

However, I successfully hacked my Wii U with that guide, so I really don't get what's up with the hate.
