I hope you guys don't mind me playing devils advocate, but can you see ways of Nintendo easily closing these loopholes? A bit like the PS3 hack?

They already did :D
Just like any other device from any other manufacturer, they will release FW updates to counter all possible attacks.

The usual cat and mouse game ;)

Hmm, I wonder when we'll see a "emunand". Does anyone know how Hykem is doing with IOS exploitation for key retrieval ?

I haven't seen Hykem in three weeks, so I don't know his progress. Those of us actively working on IOSU (basically just me and Matt) are attempting to fuzz the IOSU userspace and see what ARM crashes we can generate.

Most Wii U games seem to be 32000 Hz. My SM3DW, WWHD, and MK8 OST dumps seem to be reading that for a bitrate through vgmstream on Foobar2000.

So since Nintendo blocked internet access for 5.4.0 (for Online Games etc). Does that mean the exploit should be release soon?

Or it is not finished yet.

So, some asshole ruined 5.4 for us? I was gonna just block updates and play Mario Maker, but might as well update at this point.

At least 5.5 has an exploit in the works.

When we were going to release 5.4.0 was not changed by the online cheating incident, if you think it's done that. I would suggest you not believe the crazy reactions of people here.

??

You won't be able to use Mario Maker's online function and be on 5.4. That's what I mean by "ruined".

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.

Free release can have loopholes where they still make money through ads
