Looks like the WiiU might finally get some sales boost (I still have to get one, this might be a nice incentive)

The conspiracy theories aside, selling systems to users who will just pirate games (which is 95% of the users interested in this at the very least) is not really useful as they profit mostly from software, not hardware sales.Think Nintendo secretly tipped off someone to give them this to get people excited and sell more wii-u's? I read the post and how they say this cant be patched by Nintendo coz of how it's done but what if that isnt true? If nintendo could indeed patch this or fix it then this could be a great way to generate more interest in the system and then be like "ah ha, gotcha!"

What would happenTrue enough but what if it worked like this:
Watch wii-u get hacked -> Lots of wii-u's get sold thinking its a solid investment like the DS -> Nintendo wait 2months then patch it -> People have a normal wii-u -> Mario kart 8 gets released.
I admit, im in the "conspiracy theorist" group but desperate times call for desperate measures. I truely wouldnt put it past Nintendo to do something like this lol.
I will no longer be updating my Wii U as I would like to use this hack when it becomes public.
As stated before, Nintendo won't be able to patch this with a firmware update
The same was said about 3.55(?) on the PS3 and we all know how that ended. (I realize this works very differently, but just sayingAs stated before, Nintendo won't be able to patch this with a firmware update

Project M for ssb4 anyone? :3Missed that, but awesome! It's like Smash Stack all over again.
Is this encrypted?
Because it's pretty much useless if it is.

No, the Boot ROM is always plaintext.
