Will it have Angry Birds?
That ugly controller, tablet, whatever it is, really makes me not want the console at all :|
is nintendo confusing the controller for a tablet/smartphone?
Actually, the controller its self has processing power of its own, and can run independently for small tasks. An app store for things like, say calculators and chess, was a natural move.
From what I understand, the built-in SoC is actually only responsible for connectivity with the main unit, the actual processing happens "there". That said, the applications can be ran on the tablet controller or on the "big screen" independently. This broadens the "capabilities" of applications designed to work on the tablet.
Inb4 people start bitching about how nintendo isn't original.
If this happens, I will give my 3DS to a homeless child in Africa and boycott Nintendo forever.
This is one part I hate about Nintendo: can't they just use the Nintendo eShop and expand from there? They can just separate Wii U content from the 3DS.
You mean a universal account/shop? Yeah, that would be nice.
I would be funny if they put the android store as a app with a filter on there.
But then he's going to run out of batteries 5 hours later.
If Nintendo played this right they could be onto a winner, The processing power of the wii-u beaming apps and content to the device real time has massive casual appeal.
I'd imagine a lot of time spent on the Ipads/tablets is in the home, so when people think of buying a tablet they might consider the wii-u as alternative.
I mean how many of you really take your laptops out and about?
One things for certain if they get a great response with the wii-u, Sony will be there with the ps4 with capacitive touch screens built in The controller and probably android rocking inside.
I'm all for it personally, But i reckon Nintendo will charge million pound for the gb version of tetris!
if it's ripping off appl$ than i'll make an exception
That's a pretty smart move, they are drawing in some of the tablet crowd and getting them interested in their app store games, half of them being virtual console of course and getting them more interested in games, eventually buying disc games.
But if it doesn't do that, It will always have the tablet crowd coming into Nintendo and just using it for the apps and Virtual Console/Wii U-Ware games.
The Wii U looks as if it will be the lead of the next-gen once again.
But we haven't seen Microsoft's or Sony's plans yet, so things could get a lot more interesting.
If Microsoft decides to go with a full Kinect system they could lose a lot of praise.
If Sony goes with a massive launch price, it could be the PS3 all over again.
quite simply cos their waiting to see what ninty releases than copy it
They are trying to make it a tablet.
Which is an awfully retarded move.
Every time I see the word "app" I cringe.
It's a fucking apple term...stop applying it to everything.
They don't currently sell apps. They sell games.
not really tablets are on the rise to take over exsp android
i think this is a good idea.why because lets say they get games that come on other tablets like the ipod, we will probably be getting updated versions of that game that give you a choice of using the touch screen or the buttons the Wii U controller has and i perfer to use buttons.i'm not really into most games that just use a touch screen.
