Well remember back when waninkoko was showing us the nand emulator. That for him it took a long time to load into the homebrew channel for some odd reason? Is it related or no?

No, but you'll need to:

* resync wiimotes
* reinstall the HBC through bannerbomb & Hackmii Installer
* reset the wireless (and all other) settings
* restore the Backup disc dump
* install all your custom channels again
* redownload VC/WW that were purchased
* optionally reinstall the system menu theme

Bootmii and cIOSes will be unaffected.

Since I know you have DarkWii, it'd be a good idea to install a regular System Menu 4.1 before doing it. DarkWii+Format = ? (brick???)

No I said when he showed us the video for Nand emulation. When he first turned on the wii without nand emulation he said something about the homebrew channel takes forever to load on his wii.?

So his wii is slow as well...nand emulation is not a solution to a slow wii.

The only decent one, Triiforce, forces all titles to run under IOS249 because of how it works. There are quite a few games that do not run properly under that IOS.

Haha... Nick, i could have just asked you this on the phone or email. i also liked how you personalized your response "* optionally reinstall the system menu theme" but there no RISKS?

I'd like to add my two cents that my launch Wii occasionally has this problem, though it's usually slow to load the system menu. I've had times where it took as long as 30 seconds to go from the Internet Channel back to the system menu; it just stayed at a black screen for a while.

I wonder if the Wii is really slow at clearing memory?

I dont mind clearing entirely all my messages from launch on my launch wii.
I suffer the same problems, all channels, no matter which i launch take around 20 seconds to boot, all of them, however, if i wait those 20 seconds before launching them, the channels load normally.
Will post results tomorrow

One of my wiis got really slow after getting WSR and it adding hundreds of messages to the board. This wii was also using the internet channel a lot.

I didn't want to spend a lot of time so I chose to format and it speeded everything back up. Saved me spending time, but I never figured out what the issue was.
Looking at a dump of the nand iirc there were a LOT of shared contents (can't remember details it was over a long time ago).
I did at some point clean up that nand dump and reinstall it and the problem was gone, so it might have been the shared contents. I also had a lot of old saves I never used, the Wii had only a few blocks free so this may have been the problem too. There were other things but I think it was one of the two I mentioned.

If you do decide to format then do some reading first because it can cause problems on some setups.
