Ive bricked my wii about 3 weeks ago and i was wondering if i could replace the mother board with a new one.
And how would this affect me hacks wise? If i buy a new mobo from say ebay will i still be able to hack it?

and is this what i need?:

Mobo

does it matter what type of mobo i get? And is it possible to get a boot1 vulnerable one?
And will i still have all my saved data if i replace the mobo?

Your link goes to the dvd rom motherboard and with this piece you can't fix your brick.

But why you doesn't try the recovery menu method?
Ok, you need a modchip, but a no solder modchip is easy to use.

Than you can use your saved data, but with a new motherboard you get a new nand an in this nand all your data are stored.

Edit:
This is an Wii Motherboard:

The price of a working Wii motherboard should be > 70$.

I dont have a recovery menu.... Thats the whole reason i bricked. I bricked the 1st time trying to install a theme i made.
I fixed using preloader easily by installing system menu 4.0 wad. But i didnt know that installing that wad will erase preloader
so i tried installing the same theme again only this time i didnt have a menu to save me.

Will savemii really work? I thought i needed to have skip diag. check on in order for it to actually save me? Keep in mind im on 4.0!

Of cause i'm not sure, but i think it's possible.

You can try it with a (30$ no solder) modchip like a Wasabi DX, but it's your risk. If it not work you can sell it again.
Mostly i can help me and some other people with an modchip and an recovery dvd from the www(I try'd different dvd's with wadmanager for IOSxx, ..., ....).

Possible that is luck, but up to this day any dvd work.

Ok, the 100 percent working way is to buy a new motherboard, but a real working.
Ebay? Hmmm, it's not sure you get a working mobo.

Nintendo?
Yes, they can fit your Wii with an new Motherboard.
But here in Germany you must pay the price of a new Wii to repair if they found an modification.
