Hacking Wii Menu 4.2 Released

Yes, newest version of Homebrew Channel works on the 4.2 System Menu. I recently updated my HBC, then my Wii, and HBC is still there.

The new four letter title for the Homebrew Channel is now JODI instead of HAXX.
Does anyone know if there's some significance to this?

They should have changed the title ID to ROFL

Yea so far from what I've read it works flawlessly, I just hope they get bannerbomb working again. Since my friend decided to blindly update his Wii without consulting the internet or me for that matter (then crying to me about it yesterday) I think the only route open to him now is using the Indiana Pwns hack, guess I better tell him to gamefly or rent it.

Yea I figured someone would say that, I actually don't own a Wii myself. I'm just the sucker that all my friends run to when they want something hacked.

Quickie question. If IOS's 222, 223, 249 and 250 are having stubs installed, are you able to reinstall afterwards or does 4.2 erase it AGAIN at every boot up?

just did the update on my second wii....and only the backup channel stays in but it crashes on it hehe...think we all just have to wait for bannerbomb to get fixed

The stubs can be deleted or overwritten by cIOS-using homebrew. The System Menu doesn't even touch any IOSes.

Bannerbomb will never work on 4.2 and up. Use Indiana Pwns or SmashStack to load homebrew.

The current version of bannerbomb will never work on 4.2 and up.

It's entirely feasible that a changed bannerbomb could work. Time/Comex will tell.

I just ran the new hackmii installer and updated my homebrew channel to 1.0.5.
Now if I let Nintendo update my wii to 4.2, will I lose all my VC/Wiiware/homebrew channels?

But Bootmii installed as Boot2 would be gone, right?

Seriously if you want 4.2 it's better to install the newest HBC and DVDx via Hackmii v0.5 first, install the latest Shop Channel with the updated IOS61 second, then use Dop-IOS v8 to update IOS56 and IOS57 (without the fake signing bug) and install IOS70 (with the fake signing bug). After that grab the System Menu 4.2 WAD via NUS Downloader and use Wad Manager to install it.

Volia, You're on 4.2 with Homebrew enabled, and all your cIOSes should be intact.

Maybe they are preparing for the launch of Hulu/Netflix service on the Wii ??? It has been in development for a while.

Honestly if you read the last few pages you would realize that you SHOULDN'T DO THIS!
And wait! Don'T HEX EDIT!

Anyways. I tried it. Messed up. Can't use BootMii and HBC. Though, my VC/Wiiware work. Should I reinstall Sytem Menu 4.2 ? (Clean) After they're is a HackMii and BootMii release?
(Oh and (FORGOT XD) What are the chances of bricking the wii if BootMii fails to install)

Anyone :S T-T

I hope if this is really putting the hurt on piracy I would love to see it as a necessary update for New Super Mario Bros Wii and Mario Galaxy 2.

Disc updates are safer than online updates as well

Ok, so I'm very confused right now.
My friend just bought a Wii and the fck updated it to 4.2

Is there a (temp) fix?

If I understand correctly I can use Indiana Pwns to boot hackmii installer and install Bootmii/HBC.
What do I do after that? I read about the DOP-IOS stuff but I'm kinda new to that since I'm a bit outdated.

Well comex theys something different and shouldn't he know?

The bannerbomb fix is very crude and should be circumventable.

Follow the guides that are stickied in this board. They should still work.
