How does boot2v4 affect the pre-LU64, vulnerable boot1 Wiis exactly?

It doesn't, really. Since they can't ever patch boot1 there shouldn't be much stopping a new revision to BootMii even with boot2v4 installed. And if you're REALLY adventurous you could try getting a boot2v2 wad from any game disc and install that. But beware that doing so could very well be a one-way ticket to a turbobrick.

Yeah, see I don't know how it would become a brick...

I don't either, but I won't claim that it's 100% safe until someone's done it =P

This might prevent us from playing the next line of party games, PS2 ports and on-rail shooters.

Oh... the horror...

System Menu v4.2 reeks of October 23, 2008!
What is that supposed to mean?
The System Menu v3.4 came out on that date. That Wii update crippled MANY homebrew Wiis!

lol nice URL there, gave me a chuckle... another bad thing, if you send in your wii for repairs, they will update it to 4.2, right?

ouch, nintendo definitely did there homework on this one as previously stated.

i almost certain out of the 80 or so guest viewing this topic, 1 is a nintendo official seeing whats good.
