I'm pretty sure that's not going to work. The update overwrites IOS250. Having the highest version number doesn't protect it from that. Highest version number can be overwritten with the same version number.technom8t said:ok how to get HBC back on your wii if you have 4.2
ok if you don not already have wad manager channel on your wii, and need it to install the HBC DO THIS
1. Run indian jones exploit
2.have wad manager as boot.elf on root of SD card.
3.choose IOS250 and install the HBC.WAD. ( the one i have made with a changed title ID, ninty wont delete)
Tried and tested, PM for link to HBC (unless i can post it, is hombrew against the rules?)

Although it's highly dangerous.
Would be nice if someone could write down the correct offsets for the different regions of the sysmenu...
BTW
It feels good to be back in the scene ^^

Well if IOS250 really isn't patched I would suggest doing the following:
1. Install a patched IOS36 with DOP-IOS
2. install preloader
3. Enable preloader hacks
4. Install the homebrew hannel with hackmii installer
It's a few steps more but afterwards you ahve the standart homebrew channel.
Ofcourse there is another way. You can jsut manually install IOS70 and SystemMenu4.2.wad.brett824 said:yes updated through Nintendo, there is currently no other way until wanikoko finished his 4.2 upgrader, although hackmii installer wont run on 4.2 as far as i am aware. but the prelaoder thing may work, if not just do the same thing but patch IOS70.Slowking said:I'm pretty sure that's not going to work. Haven't we already established multiple times that IOS250 doesn't get overwritten?
I haven't seen anything esablished, just wild speculation. My information was, that the highest version number can be overwritten by itself. I think I read it in one of the blogposts on twiizers.
But since technom8t has actually tested it on a Wii that was updatet through Nintendo, I guess that information was wrong.

hbc_dopios_v8 (FILE)
and
