Anyone been able to update to Preloader 0.30 successfully? I keep getting a "IOS(60) has fake sign bug" error.
same here get the same thing after pressing A on the changelog screen.

I don't think boot2 has anything to do with it. You see, Ninty updated all the other IOS's as well.
Yes, but if you update manually using only the required IOS/SysMenu Wads then it's all good.
'Cept for Homebrew Channel.

The system menu itself IS doing the deleting, every time upon startup. I have everything else installed and it is the system menu.
ouch, so i guess we have to wait for that tutorial on how to patch the SM wad with that preloader hack.

Yep we will. Restored back to 4.1, everything's fine. So yeah, waiting for that hardmod and with the update patch and I'll upgrade.

Hmm...the new menu does something that makes it so I can't play a burnt Japanese game I had with my mod chip. Gamecube that I tested works (I made multi game discs of the Gamecube games I own).

I don't have a legit Japanese game to try, it could be the burnt game. Only Japanese game I have, couldn't afford the $70 to import it. Legit games of my region definitely work. Didn't try a burnt game.

Right. I guess you could patch the System Menu with the preloader patch before installation to get around that.

Also, I vote that Twiizers change the titleid of the HBC to "H4XX"

I have a question:

Does TBR still work?

Sorry if this was mentioned already, but its a 41 page thread, I'm not gonna read it all
wink.gif
you cant downgrade IOS 15
which is step 1 of TBR!
According to WiiBrew, you cant downgrade IOS due to new boot2. But LU64+ wiis always had that, and TBR worked on them. Has anyone actually tested it, or is it just assumed?

Just wanting a confirmation on what IOS' are safe / not safe to patch atm.

obviously patching IOS60, 70, 222, 223, 249 and 250 would be stupid but what about the game based and application based IOSs?

using Dop-IOS (v8) you can update the following:

IOS38 3610 -> 3867
IOS56 4890 -> 5405
IOS57 5404 -> 5661
IOS61 4890 -> 5405
IOS70 none -> 6687

I want to update my shop and wii-speak IOSs but im not 100% sure of the consequences (and ive got bootmii as an IOS so itll be a challenge to reload my nand if anything goes wrong)

If anyone knows or has confirmation of the results of any of these updates i would be greatly thankful (i wanna see what the shop channel holds in the future still XD)

I wouldn't trust what WiiBrew says about what can be downgraded or not since that was a taboo subject for a good while, and there's still plenty of misinformation about what exactly a boot2v4 Wii can and can't do.

What if you use dop-ios and install a new ios60 without patches first, then run preloader .30 install?
Wouldn't this override Preloader 0.29? They havent come out with an 0.30 dol to download yet, just an update through the Preloader menu.

yea but then you can

1] reinstall preloader 29
2] update to 30 [or try to]

will they come out with a .30 dol?
i dont see why not?

IOS57 - Title ID: 0000000100000039 V: 5661

Patch them with FreeTheBugs

Install them to your Wii via WADManager...

Enjoy SM4.2

I think the real question is.. why?

There is no reason to...

I don't feel any speedup in SM.

Wouldn't this be useful in case games themselves start checking system menu version?
