Hacking Wii Menu 4.2 Released

Aw man. I thought this could happen eventually, but boy does this ever stink.

I mean, technically I can do without, but I hope some way of updating without these issues presents itself. Also, does this wipe out BootMii boot2, BootMii IOS, or both?

It means Nintendo FAILS at anti-piracy. If Indiana Pwns or SmashStack works, we can reinstall cIOS.

EDIT: Shop: still version 16. How it knows there's an update i don't know...IOS version?

There's something quite odd about this update. Why would Nintendo release a new firmware without any new features? Do they honestly expect us to update?

Us? No.

Non-brew user? Yes.

I feel this is more of a piracy prevention thing then a piracy removal thing...After all, they failed miserably removing IOS250.

It isn't that it has no new features, it's that no one knows what else it does yet. Apparently Nintendo hasn't even sent out the usual "there's an update!" message to the Wiis yet. I know I haven't seen one yet.

wait. Then preloader is blocked too! because the IOS70 is the Menu.................

Correct me if i am wrong, but as far as i can see, they only updated IOS above 56, so if we still have our modified IOS 35 or 36, with the trucha bug active, we could potentially install Cios again.
The only problem is that HBC and Bannerbomb are dead, right?, anyone suggest it is time to buy Lego Indiana Jones?

You're right, techboy. We all must remember, the general public believes that updates actually improve functionality. They don't realize that the updates are actually restricting their freedom.

Also, does anyone know the version number of the new system menu for the regions and/or which version is IOS70's initial release?
