The alternate file/directoryname is in the works.

Could you please explain what you mean by 'directoryname characters'

Support all characters in directory name that valid (like windows naming convention).
If i use the renaming script from cfg loader, i am not able to load my wbfs dir in WGM because it says there are illegal characters in one of the directory names.

BTW, i would transfer files from my wbfs partition to wbfs files, after 80 files, WGM freezes.
I will use the wbfs_file.exe via command line now to transfer the files ...

Hmm, I set 470 games to transfer after reading this message and they all transferred fine.
Could be the random queue bug that is haunting me

when i (open iso files (list a)) and select a folder it doesnt search for sub directories and since they have to be in folders for cfg loader i cant select all my games on that drive i can only go to 1 game as each are in seperate folders
edit oop forgot to tick the recursive subdirectories

few other problems requests etc

how do i copy an iso from my hard drive (sparsed) to my wii hard drive as an iso still(sparsed) i can only see create wbfs, create wbfs with directories, add to wbfs partition

will this sparse the iso file when transferring from an iso to iso or wbfs to iso?

could u make it so if you move or copy an iso it uses this option so its sparsed
-z : make zero filled blocks as sparse when scrubbing

with wbfs_file.exe i have a bit of a problem doing it through the cmd line (using 2.9 but has had this problem for a while)
if i rip an iso with the (command -z) it from the iso on the computer to a folder on my comp that i use to back them up on sparsed then rip it to my wii drive with (command -z) it works fine
but if i do the same but rip with (commands -g -z) it goes to my folder that i use for backups but then if i want to rip it to the wii drive i have to rip it (commands -g -z) again if i dont put the -g command it i get a
Code:
malloc fst :no error

and then when loading it up through wii game manager 1.5.01 it receives an error with that file
so how to i rip only the game partition but not get that error

will this have the same trouble if i use the game only option in this program ??

i hope i havent confused you seems this is more for wbfs files than using iso atm unless i have overlooked the options i need

ok this works on pc but not on laptop. weird. anyways what do "download titles.txt" and the xml do?
im going to guess the xml has info on the game and such which im not interested in. however i would like the names to be better. i downloaded the titles thinking it would autoupdate the game titles but they dont. how would i go about doing this?

Is your loader set to use the titles.txt?
GX doesn't support it anymore I believe. It uses the wiitdb.zip instead (which contains the XML it probably talks about)

Once titles.txt is downloaded you just need to load your games into the list. It should automatically display them correctly. This does not rename your files only display them with the values in titles.txt. It will use these values when extracting/converting files tho

This program uses both. Titles.txt for the titles and wiitdb.xml for the game info.

Unfortunately no, this program only works in windows

Ed

Oh, too bad. Which language are you using ?
(I'm thinking about doing something similar - but probably even simpler - in Java)

Visual Basic 2008 Express

If I understand you right, the program already does this, it replaces all invalid characters as spaces, removes double spaces, converts the spaces to underscores and that is the output filename/directoryname created.

I noticed you added the hit a letter and it goes to it but it does it for title id and not theactual title. and Okami still shows up as Kami

Hey Lx,

Is this still a problem with the new version or did I get it?

Edit: The Okami thing not the hit letter thing

Hi, pccfatman

Is there a way you could add a Rename feature, to rename the game name inside the .wbfs iso.
Your wonderful app made me change from WBFS Manager 3.0.1, but now I miss the Rename feature which I found quite useful in WBFS Manager.

Thanx

EDIT: never mind, WinHEX solved the problem

Wow, this prog is great! It's the first tool that helps me and my offline wii to collect all the missing cover. Only thing what is missing is a HQ cover download. Will it be added in future?

You can tell the program to download HQ covers via the options menu

ok so i take the updated titles.txt and put it in a directory and set the path in usb loader gx to it, then it will rename all the stuff (or simply display them on the wii, or on the pc)?

This program only affects the files on the PC, usb loader has its own routines for naming, I dunno how that works
If it uses titles.txt then it will display those titles on the wii if the file exists. My program uses titles.txt for diplay of the names on the PC, it also uses them for filename/directorname creation.
Neither program renames the actual files as far as I know. titles.txt is simply for display purposes so that for example if the internal name was NSMBW you would see New Super Mario Bros. Wii (This is not the actual case for this game just an example)
