Hacking Wii Game Language Patcher

Do I still need to use WBB if i'm trying to do SMG? And what about for other games?
I used it for the last 2 i tried burning but i keep getting black screen.

This is what i do:

1. Open SMG ISO with Trucha Signer
2. Extract main.dol from 2nd partition.
3. Drag extracted main.dol into wglp.exe
4. Select 1.
5. Replace main.dol with patched ver.
6. Trucha sign it!
7. Patch with WBB
8. Burn.

Am I doing anything wrong? Do I need the 7th step?

I read at the Wii Region Patcher Compatibility List the games with WGLP were tested with firmware 3.2J. I have a SMG USA with trucha sign and WGLP and when I was with firmware 3.0J it was working, but after I updated my wii to 3.2J it stopped working. How can I play SMG USA with my wii 3.2J?

Well, my supposed "wiikey" won't update, i get some sort of error saying to check my connections......
If someone can confirm that i need to update the wii itself b4 i can use this method, then i'll have to find a game with the latest update coz i don't have internet at home.

Oh, I see. Well, I can tell you that SMG needs at least 3.0J to run, and if your "wiikey" has a firmware lower than 1.9b - as I guess it does - you will need to patch the ISO in order for it not to give you the 001 error.

Thanks for that Kyokokoko. So if I get SMG (JPN), update with that and then use generic patcher for the 001 error, i should be good to go right?

and pal version of big brain academy
I searched on the compability list : WiiFrii 2.0b +Freeloader
but the freeloader is really needed ?
where could I download the japanese version of freeload ?

0221 Super Smash Bros Brawl USA (WiiZARD) Tested on 3.2J & D2CKey with WBB (Note: You have to run updates from the JPN version of disc before use this USA version with WBB, else you will got a black screen when loading game. Or use some tricks to get only part of updates in the USA disc to work, but it's risky ). Must use DVD+R DL at 2084960 Layer Break with ImgBurn. You can also burn it to a DVD5 (without cutscenes but working SSE) using this method: [1], has an update so use WBB and use Wii Generic patcher to remove 001 error.

fix the error decrypting data by setting the compatibility mode on windows XP
then just follow the steps at the wiki section.

You need a key.bin.

i find a tutorial in gbatemp about the trucha signer... but i dont understand about key.bin

i wanna test and resourch on net about this program.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get Fire Emblem to work (Wii NTSC-J, Wiikey 1.9j, 3.2j Firmware).

Here are the steps I'm taking.

Extract main.dol (2nd partition right?) FEE etc.
open in WGLP and run using option NTSC-U/PAL game option or 1EN manual mode.
replace the main.dol
sign the partition
WBB 1.3 (It's R2 not sure if this is a problem)

Do I also need to Region Frii this iso now? is RegionFrii even used anymore? I noticed there are other apps for this such as GWP and WiiFrii.

Not sure if I should post about other apps in this thread. But I use WiiFrii and have no problems playing SMG (USA) on my NTSC-J Wii. I'm assuming it'll be the same for Fire Emblem (I have downloaded PAL version but can't try for another few days). Will post back with results.

cause it'll be easier to use and in such case that trucha is patched,,,it'll no longer work (i think)

You have to expand the partition by clicking on the "+" next to the partition name.

Both have a main.dol, the one in the second partition is the one you want to alter.
