Well, I could shove a sock in a toaster on the moon and start playing Zelda. As long as it was YouTube quality nobody could prove it wasn't real.

..'cept maybe the moon part... I think they keep logs of moon landings or something..
IT WORKS!

edit: Yeah, the shadows are all wrong... It's a moon thing, you wouldn't understand.

completly fake,a real hackproof video would show a hello world program or something simple like that. There's no way someone found the exploit, deved the tools to dump isos, and cam just after all that
What does running homebrew have with running backups? Just look at xbox360, gl running any hello world there.

But yes, I think it's fake until I see solid proof it's not, and a video on youtube is nowhere near proof of anything like it.

Firstly, the Wii is capable of reading dual layer discs. This was stated by nintendo themselves a while back.
Plus if you look at this image taken by yours truely you can clearly see that the disk is labled "RVT-R Single layer disk". If the Wii was unable to play dual layer disks why would they need to specify that this disk is single layer wouldn't it simply say "RVT-R Disc"?

Secondly this isn't the method of booting backups i mentioned the other day AFAIK. But if one method is being tested, who's to say another isn't also? But i'm still skeptical til i see further proof. New Years day is just around the corner...

1. Be a genius
2. ?
3. PROFIT!

(no really, I'm a hack, just a hack, "Hack it out!", that's my motto)

Seriously, I have intense doubts that this exploit is fo troozle, but I guess we wait and see, no?

I have my doubts, possibly just patches something in the bootloader, but c'mon... theres so many things that need to be done before a backup runs

we would most likely see these things before a real backup running;
- dvd drive mod chip
- hello world
- drive code?
- dump method
- some kinda firmware/hardware docs

My only question is, if this is real, then why does it go back to the media select menu when he chooses the bootloader just before the system "reboots" (or is just turned off by the remote). I really would like for this to be real, but I can't see it being so.

Confirmed in another thread that there are two Wiis. Another member of this board noticed that the menus are different before and after the bootloader was run. It's a difference in firmware apparently.

Probably running some sort of AV switch to swap inputs at the opportune moment.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.
