You have Version 3.3 - the U stands for USA - its 3.3e for Europe and 3.3j for japan
The only later version is 3.4 and there is a hack for that now as well - though 3.3 is still easier.

Alright thanks, I just wanted to make sure because some people said that it doesn't work if you have v3.3u and others said it does.

The homebrew channel will install on 3.3 - you may need to downgrade if you want to use the backup loader - its easy enough to do - guide is in my sig - oct23rd downgrade

Is there a way to tell if I have 3.3 V1 or 3.3 V2? I know it sounds pretty pathetic but I can't remember if I updated my Wii on or after October 23rd.

Here are the files i used they are in the description for a youtube video that i installed .
Update my dvds do load but rarely every once in a while they start and no problems but i tried exiting and starting again and got the same 324 error .

I tried everything else except for the sony/verbatium dvds on my 3.2 u wii .
My backups loaded fine until i installed those files above im thinking it has something to do with the dvd stub itself altering how the backups are read .

Update : I found out a way to stop the 324 issue by loading the backup disc after i loader up wiigator gama then it loaded perfectly problem solved .

If anyone else is having a 324 issue try what i did and it has a very high possibility of working

Hello Guys,

Complete Newbie here so excuse my complete hopelessness. i have however read all the faqs, there are some many versions/updates with many names, so it does get a little confusing.

I have 3.3e system menu.

I have installed the Twilight using beta1.

I installed Homenrew Channel.

I tried installing cIOS but towards the end, (i think 15/15) i get an error. -1017.

I tried running the IOS downgrader as per other suggestions, but it just seems to restart the Wii when i run it.

From the backup loader i was able to run my original Zelda Game, but i'm not sure if that means it is working.

It seems i am also unable to install any WAD files.

So how do i get rid of the error and move successfully to the net step?

Hello everyone. Im having a little trouble getting the rebooter to work. Im using 1:1 disc but the disc channel still wont launch it. In the rebooter section of the gamma app I have all the rebooter options on. So why wont it work? Any advice would be nice. Thanks.

they work with a mod chip and a new IOS install , but not with the backup launcher

I'm having trouble with the disk read error too. ( DISK READ ERROR (324) ) Almost all my games are working (Mario Party 8, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, etc...) but I'm trying to get Okami to work. It says that it works patched and unpatched but my disk doesn't seem to work.
It's 1:1, I'm using a Verbatim DVD-R. I tried 2x, 1x, 4x, 6x, AUTO, MAX, and 16x. I tried using the backup launcher gamma in both .wad and .dol. Doesn't seem to work. I installed cIOS rev7 on wiigator's blog. Could anyone help plz? thx!
