Sorry, seems like nobody else has a keyboard around here.

Thank you for testing,
I've just uploaded the new version to the project site with some
changes to try to fix the problems you mentioned.

R69 loads into a crash dump on my Wii. The music plays, the interface appears for a fraction of a second, then it dumps. I tried deleting my config in case that was interfering, but no change.

Hello,
this is a little post to keep you updated with the development of wiibrowser :)
While adding new features to the published releases, I'm also working on a new rendering engine for the app.
that's a screenshot to give you a glimpse:

It's far from being ready (it's slow and buggy) but it should "make web pages look like pages".

One more thing: some users reported issues with revision 70: the downloads are not saved/the app crashes when exiting.
Has anyone here experienced similar problems?
Please let me know and thanks for your interest and all your suggestions!

I was one of the person reported this problem when downloading, I would add that my connection is pretty slow and unstable, could be that the problem?

It could be, but I'd need more feedbacks to be sure.
All those to whom file download works please post:
"It works for me!!" :)
you can test using this url I know it works (on the emulator):

Just put this in the bookmarks and browse to the page:
you should be asked whether to save the file, hit yes and insert a valid path followed by a file name
(ex. sd:/apps/wiibrowser/filename.pdf);
hit ok button and wait for the download to complete (you should see a progress dialog like this "Loading...32%");
at the end the app will return to the homepage.
Please let me know if the file is saved or not.

Also, are settings saved in the latest version after modifying from within the app?

Dang I still have r37, gotta keep up with this thread and I'll give feedback regarding the download issue on r70 when I have time.

It happens to be a error on my part (my bad) I wasn't typing the file name...
Another question, it's necessary put the file extension?

Oh, and it store the settings correctly after exit the app.

Ehm, the answer is "sometimes":
The app automatically adds the extension only if the page contains a valid "Content-Type" header,
so I suggest you to put it always by yourself.
However next version is almost ready and will bring a file browser to handle downloads

:yaywii: Swoot! gave, you are awesome! BTW do you think it would be possible to make forwarder channels for links or bookmarks that would use your browser for access? There used to be really good forwarders for Facebook and Youtube but since Opera sucks now, they're practically useless. I could see a Forwarder for Twitter via your browser but locked to the Android user agent and the site, being handy. That way it creates the "feeling" of having a Twitter app for Wii, especially since most of these mobile version sites act as an HTML app. Mind you, I wouldn't want you working on such a thing right now. Please don't push yourself. You do a lot already. Just knowing if the possibility is there would be nice. I could see people using a "dummy version" of your browser that can be combined into a forwarder wad.

Next version will support launching with argument and I already have a .dol forwarder to be put inside a wad channel with ability to start the app directly from a url, the homepage or a bookmark hardcoded or gotten from the meta.xml file.
I read somewhere you're "a fairly decent artist" :D
if you want I can provide you the forwarder and you make the wad with banner.

@gave92 outfrickinstanding man! This is quickly turning into the most kick ass thing since sliced bread. Don't suppose you have a wiki set up listing all the intricacies of your little program? Or maybe build in as an instruction manual type page. Keep the awesome comin' bro!

Anyone able to compile the latest? I can't find the liblogic

Other feature requests:
Way to view, manage downloads
hold backspace for continuous backspacing

Sweet! Bring it on!

Hold backspace for continuous backspacing -> Done!
Way to view, manage downloads -> It wil be added as soon as I figure out how to do parallel downloads

@LightyKD this is a simple forwarder that will be able to start the browser from "m.facebook.com" ;)

I have a small but really useful suggestion, and I don't think I'm the only person that wants this. Can you create a filebrowser for locating where you download a file? It'd be far easier than typing it in longhand, especially if you don't know your SD card's file structure like the back of your hand.

^This!!

@gave92: Are you focus right now on basic Wii Browser features or make webpages look more friendly? or maybe both?
