Yeah but the core m3 model in us is 899$ and in france it is 999 euro so wtf it should be like 810 euro because of the change not 999 euro

The real question is why would someone want to buy one of those abominable things, especially if you do not live in the US. :tpi:

I'd suggest you to import an US model.
Shipping charges and handling couldn't be more than 100$

Variety of reasons things can be different than a simple exchange rate on a given day, which by the way 1100 Euros is about 1250 USD.

EU sales tax is usually called VAT. Strictly speaking VAT is not a sales tax in the same sense of the US one but either way it is 20% in France. 20% sales tax is insanely high for anywhere in the US -- http://www.salestaxinstitute.com/resources/rates (they are a combination of state's base rate and any local ones a given town/county might levy, either way you will be doing well to break 10%).

EU disposal of electronic goods is a thing. http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/weee/index_en.htm has a bit more but the short version is in the EU companies selling goods are made to accept their old goods back for disposal. This costs more than the US approach which is often little more than dig a big hole and chuck it in.

France in particular has a requirement for things with headphone sockets (too many kids with hearing damage). It could be that it is a separate model for France and thus requires extra effort, though probably not to the tune of $100

If it has a 3g socket then I believe France mandates it be unlocked (don't quote me on that, if not France then one of the neighbouring countries and people would then travel for it). If they are not getting a kickback for locking it to a provider...

On top of all that people do pay higher prices in Europe for whatever reason. If people will pay it then it is worth considering charging more. I do not know what the French colloquialism is offhand but the UK one is rip off Britain and I have heard similar ones in most EU countries I go in.

Gah I forgot warranties as well. EU warranties are far better than the US -- when they try to sell you anything in the EU with 3 years warranty most will laugh in their face and carry on, or said warranty will be for something extra like on site servicing for three years. In the UK it is called the sale of goods act, most EU countries have something similar but I have not dealt with the French one so I do not know what it is called, apologies for the English link but http://www.brittany-internet.com/BrittanyNews/ConsumerRightsFrance/tabid/169/Default.aspx looks like a good starter. US warranties are maybe a year if you fight for it and even trying to return something can be a nightmare. If you buy something in the US then do not expect the EU division of that company to do anything about it, they might service it but you will be paying for it all.

But yeah if you can buy it for cheaper in the US and can deal with any charging (US is 120V mains and not all chargers will do both), keyboard (US keyboard layout is not the same) or possible wifi issues (US wifi has fewer channels than the EU, though in practice the only people that use the extra channels in the EU are people that already know wireless networking and do it deliberately) then go it if you want to. Be aware you might have to pay import taxes (which will usually be that 20% VAT and maybe a bit more in random fees).

But but, you know, something you buy 5 USD in US is 5 CAD in CA.
    that's sounds just right.

But then something cost insanely more, like the surface 4, so that sure annoys me :P
