Hacking Why Super Mario Bros.wad isnt launching on wii

When i launch that virtual console game it tells "this channel cannot be used" and crashes my wii so i should turn it off and turn on again. Can the Different region settings be the problem of that?

What is the version of your Wii console and your region? (The version can be found in Wii Options > Wii Settings > Page 1)

but what is the version of your vWii? (Check the version of your vWii by launching the vWii mode on your Wii U, then go to Wii Options > Wii Settings > Page 1)

How did you install the wad file? Delete it, download it again from a different source and install it. Also is it installed on the sd card?
It shouldn't cause that error message if the wad is for a different region than your own, it could be either a corruption of the wad file, or it's system related.
Do you have other vc nes games installed that work, or just this?

You're wrong, it also throws the error "You cannot use this channel." message when you try to play an installed WAD of a different region which does not match your region.
Or at least it happens me on Wii and Dolphin Emulator

Oh? I don't recall encountering any error on the Wii, and i assumed it should be the same for vWii too.. i have many wads installed on the system from different regions, they either boot to a black screen (if they don't work somehow) or boot normally.

then these are poorly changed to Region Free, resulting that if detects different region, when it starts, it just throws a black screen.
Example: trying to launch a NTSC-U VC channel which is "Region Free" in a PAL Wii won't throw the "You cannot use this channel" error, but it will just boot a black screen due to original region that does not match with the Wii's region.

You mean the wad files were poorly changed to RF? Not necessarily, for me i don't think they were modified, and some out of region VC games work and some didn't, and when they boot to a black screen it was because i was using composite, and no amount of fiddling with the video settings on USBLoaderGX would fix it, until i switched to component, i no longer had that problem after that.

Well? What was the cause of the problem? It's common courtesy to explain what caused it, so others having similar problems visiting this thread can know what you exactly did to fix it.

Priiloader on vWii?

Personally I just launch out-of-region channels through usb loader gx instead. It bypasses region limitations.
