Hey everyone.. I really want to know.. Why do i have to patch appz??? Since they load and work fine (i think), without patching it with the correct DLDI...
So can anybody tell?

Some flashcarts automatically patch things for you

The R4/M3 Simply (and most other slot 1 flashcarts) apply the appropriate patch automatically when you run a program that uses DLDI. Before the auto-patching was added to the loader you needed to apply the patch manually, but not any more.

First off, "appz" is not very descriptive. Commercial ROMs usually don't have to be patched, although there are rare cases where it is recommended. Homebrew, on the other hand, usually has to be DLDI patched. The reason things like DSOrganize work on your M3DSSimply is that it automatically DLDI patches homebrew, just like the R4DS. This removes the need for you to do it.

EDIT: Two people got in before me
