Hi everyone,

Approx every six month, my emummc file based crash when i try to install new game or even in game itself. I try to update atmosphere+bootloader+sigpatche, wipe my sd and replace file. Every time i got a blue screen, or a black screen or in best scenario i boot on system but there is no game's image only a sandbox.

I try to make a fresh install to a new sdcard ( who has crash a year ago) with a new emummc sd file. The system boot correctly, i can install and play game. If i try to boot on emummc sd file who has crash on first sd, i get same error: bluescreen.

So, that is my question: how to make a system who not crash twice a year? SDpartition? Sysnand? (I don't care about ban)
What i'm missing ?

Thank you for your helping.

Which filesystem you are using? Recommended is fat32.
The crashes of atmosphere could be an sysmodule which MUST sometimes also be updated, depending on the HOS version.
The sandbox images will be displayed, when you copy over the the sd card contents to a new one. You have so set the archive bit correctly. Just search for "switch fix archive bit". This can also be done in hekate.

The next thing is the sdcard itself, which brand do you use?
I always usiing genuine sandisk and never had an issue.
Ps.: also running an file based emummc

Hi Popy,
I use fat32. Ok, i will check for fix archive bit.
Actually I use two sd card:
- samsung evo select 512 go ( )
- Sandisk Extreme 256 Go ()

Running partition base emummc is a better way?

I use both of those cards. 512 evo select is my daily driver. File based EmuMMC can be problematic. . They are plagued by Ninty's shoddy file system implementation. If I were you I'd start over. Your current EmuMMC is tainted.

Backup your save files first!!!

Backup your entire SD if you care.

1. Format sd with Panasonic SD Formatter
SD Formatter 3.1

https://gbatemp.net/download/panasonic-sd-formatter-windows.32483/

2. Make a new partition based EmuMMC using the guide starting fresh. Copy your SysMMC over.. don't convert your failing file based EmuMMC.

https://switch.homebrew.guide/

3. Restore saves and reinstall games, DLC , Etc etc

Once the EmuMMC is failing, it's suspect. You could restore a backup if you have it maybe. This time go hidden partition for sure. At least then we can rule out file system complications.

You could test your sd with h2testw.. the test will format the SD. Backup first!

Good luck.
