Panic button is the only "Porting" company that i have heard of. Why haven't i heard of more and if there is more why aren't the advocating for the switch? Is it a hard profession to get into? what exactly with these companies

There's a massive amount of port-focused studios, it's just that PB did some very big game and got kinda well known by that.
Also, those studios often don't have a logo in the game.
Skyrim, for example, was ported by Iron Galaxy but there's no logo or anything in the game.
