For people that bought a GC game and it does not work with Devolution:
You can still add the game to the Devolution compatibility list, tueidj checks that list now and then...
Don't forget to include a wifi log with that or it probably won't get fixed ever.

EDIT: link to that list is on the 1st page.

The discussion of this thread has gone astray. As said, the anti-priracy introduced in Devil-ution (Devolution) is evil with an out-of-date game console and long-ceased production game-discs.

For who have bought the game-disc good luck to them, and those who are outside US and non-Japanese speaking nations (especially asian region), are not able to get those US or PAL originals, chances are they can get by risk through overseas purchase from the net, or seek from collectors who sell in unworthily priced titles.

The only Pros of this Devil-ution is its support of audio streaming, which no other homebrew loaders yet can offer, otherwise I would curse the author who add this stupid AP, no one would care this loader at all.

I am still looking at this thread with finger crossed to see if someone can talk about any chance to make use of this Devil-ution with no AP, or any release of other homebrew loaders with audio streaming support......

I'm wondering, did you by chance have too many Red Bulls this morning and/or suddenly got insomnia? Calming your tits might do you some good.

I really think that this discussion is pointless, considering that if you want to pirate GameCube games, then you can just use DIOS-MIOS. While I can understand some of the arguments for not having the anti-piracy (mainly that the GameCube is a dead system), it is tueidj's program, and he can design it however he wants. As stated above, perhaps he does not want his work to be used as a warez loader. If you want a program similar to Devolution, without the anti-piracy, then program it yourself.

Or just download his open source code and edit out all the anti piracy parts.

Um, am I missing something? To my knowledge, the Devolution binary is not open source, but the sample loader is (correct me if I'm wrong). If it were that simple then I doubt that tueidj would have ever added the anti-piracy protection in the first place.

thats correct. i would love to invest some time, but i dont even know where to start. does anyone even have any literature about these kinds of mods to programs?

so I have this old four swords disk and I search for a way to get it up n running only to find this.......

can anybody understand the pain of finding out your old disk is too scratched/broken/dusty/whateverthehelliswrongwithit to use in this manner?

so like, yeah... can anyone direct me to the place I can run a backed up version of this game without putting my broken disk in the wii ? I mean I have the bloody file, which I thought I had the right sense in backing up in hopes it'll be em'd eventually, only to find this AP'd loader..... so like, if theres a next loader that'll do the job I really wish I could use it

AP-ing ancient artifacts to require originals which are out of print is quite a bummer.... if I needed an clunky SNES cart everytime the urge to get Earthbound struck me, it would be quite irritating, as I long since lost that game in one of a billion moves over the years, that an many more.... is this loader just to boost Ebay auctions for mint oldies?

on that note, why does nobody have the sense to let their systems be completely backwards compatible? why must people come behind them to fix their mistakes through arduous escapades of exorbitant coding. were I Ninty Sony or Mikey I'd have done it, for a bjillion reasons it would be too off topic to list, but yeah.....

where duz me go 4 teh real loaders?

You know what you should do? You should offer tueidj money for releasing the source. And for getting this money, you should start a fundraiser.

It's called Dios Mios. It's that or nothing.

Sigh.... But with that there is no GC controllers for me to use, I think Nintendo should a wiiu'd that game with 3ds linkage

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't kinda situation :/ Either get a newer copy (or a used but good condition) of the disc or well, wait for Nintendon't. There's not much that can be done, and no, the AP is not going to be removed from Devolution.
