Why’d you even make a thumbnail for a 7 hour video ? Aint no one clicking that lol

Also no one ever said this was impossible just gonna run like shit compared to android/lakka(that don’t run much Better)

Natively or emulation?
Than what's the issue, why so slow if its native? Switch is more powerful than GC afaik.
You need more resources to emulate a different resource. Just initially having more power alone isn’t enough

Look at the 3ds and it’s poor emulation performance and that system is much stronger than ones of the past

This dudes over here proud that he got a GameCube game to load.

Shit, my Switch struggles to play DS games.

Very cool, having a Gamecube Emulator running on Horizon makes a lot of sense, with Lakka etc. it's very annoying having to inject the payload and re-pair every controller everytime.
The project is worth pursuing imo!

hos does not the switch hardware. android drastic runs perfectly.

ports?
Already proven it wasn’t a port for those games. They’re emulated. With a bunch of custom code rewrites to make it work better in HOS.

So yeah I've written a Gamecube emulator or atleast the beginning of one. There's no aarch64 JIT yet and the interpreter doesn't have idle loop skipping, that's why performance is this bad (not saying it would be perfect with it, but it wouldn't need 7 hours even on Switch with them).

use melonDS for Switch and enable the JIT recompiler. See my signature.

all 3 tites use emulation

you can extract the n64 rom and the gamecube iso and run it in dolphin, i tried

im sure galaxy is heavily based off the nvidia shield version

but either way people could just inject random isos into it theres more to it

A person aboive said, switch can already emulate GC and Wii games (mario 3D allstars (galaxy and sunshine) ) so if thats true than switch is more than powerfull if a good emulator exists.

And if thats true, why people arent injecting roms into those emulators like they do for 3DS?

The entire code of Mario Sunshine and Galaxy and All Stars is recompiled ahead of time (AOT). The iso is there yes, but it's only for assets. You could replace them to replace textures or sounds, but to modify the code (or run any other game) you'd need NERD's recompilation tool.
