I've got a R4i SDHC 3DS RTS from R4i-SDHC. I have not used it for some time and now when I try playing some games I get a white screen when launching them, but a few games work. I use a DSi XL with version 1.4.5 on it. All games used to work but don't anymore.

Pokemon Heartgold - White screen

Pokemon Platinum - White screen

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon - White screen

Bowser's inside story - White screen

Phoenix Wright Ace attorney - Works perfectly

Some other games also work like Phoenix Wright Justice for all but they crash after some time. I tried formatting the card and reinstalling the latest kernel from the website printed on the card but it still doesn't work. I tried both EU and USA roms without success. I searched for answers but while many other people have had the same problem I couldn't find anybody who had found a solution. The card itself tells me to switch off Soft Reset and DMA options, but that didn't fix it. I don't have cheats enabled.

I tried installing YSmenu but the problem persists. I would suspect a faulty card but it still launches and some games work fine. It really is a mystery and any help would be appreciated.

With so many clones, will you please upload a picture of your card?
I’ve had similar trouble with an acekard. I had to insert some tape alongside the cart for the contacts to be seated properly.

Hope these are good enough. How exactly did you put in the tape?

I tried putting tape on it to make it thicker and also cleaned the pins but the problem persists. Really at this point I'm just wondering if the card is broken or if I should just throw it out.

Well, you seem to have gone to the proper site for the kernel. I know you said you reformatted the card, but do you have another sd card you can try?
Also, the tape, I put the tape between the plastic housing and the underside of the pins.

I'm abroad for a while and unfortunately I don't have a second Micro SD to try it on. I tried putting the tape on the bottom under the pins but it still didn't work. I also tried formatting the card with the panasonic SD card formatter since some said that fixed their issues but still nothing.

I tried installing an older Kernel and that too didn't work. I'd say the card is bricked but it's driving me nuts that Phoenix Wright works perfectly...

Replace the kernel with YSmenu:

I know, pretty old Thread but I got the exact same error.

Most games do not load at all and only a white screen is displayed. Sometimes you can see the logo of the developer studio or something beforehand.

I have already tried the firmware from the page on the card. Wood, Bl2ck and YS Menu. YSmenu won't load.

Another code two memories works. new super Mario bros won't even start.
Ace Attorney shows the Capcom logo and then hangs in a black screen.
Dragon quest chapters of the choosen shows the logo and you see the first image of the intro, hear the music and then it crashes.

I really have no clue and would be very grateful for any advice

Got this card here:
