White noise when using headphones on GB/GBC

Hello, is it possible to get rid of the noise made when using headphones when using a GB(C)? I really want to play my games with headphones, but the noise gives me a headache.

I use headphones with an inline volume control. I'll put that volume just below half and use the gbc volume for more volume. Something like this. You'll need ones with "slider" type volume control, not buttons like on iPhone EarPods.
