Which flashcarts do you own?

I think that slowly the good condition boxes are more "important" than the cards themselves xd
Definitely hard to find with the boxes in-tact that's for sure. They're a lot more important as to get to see the really nice box art, and adds a lot of uniqueness to the collection.

Unfortunately, this requires a secondary DSTWO to update the bricked cart afaik.
Hmm idk how another DSTWO would help. They have an update program that you can run on any flashcard and swap the DSTWO in to run the update, but that didn't work in my case.
I've thought about soldering to the SPI flash, maybe try and dump what's left of it, but never got around to it.
This is likely going to be an R4iTT. Could you provide a picture of the back?
It's long gone unfortunately.

That's a really impressive collection. Congratulations!

I can see you own the same R4i SDHC HappyBox flashcart I have.

EDIT: What's the "Useless Homebrew" GBA cart?
Thanks :)
I ported the DS useless homebrew and wrote it to that card (it's a rewritable single game GBA cartridge/bootleg). It was a pokemon cartridge before. The sticker is self-printed.

DSTwo
M3 DSreal
EFA Linker 256 (defunct, but I still have it)
EZ-Flash 4
Everdrive GBA mini
Everdrive 64
Everdrive N8
SD2SNES

There are probably a couple others I'm not remembering. Also I have one of Nintendo's "official" flash carts that was only available in Japan. The "Nintendo Power Cartridge" for Gameboy. There are a couple photos of it in the photo section for the Retro Games & Consoles Group.

Thanks :)

I didn't know about the DS Useless Homebrew, after searching in GameBrew now I know it's inspired by the Useless Machine, something I'm familiar with. Neat

What about R4i Ultra?

Unfortunately, I updated my DSi firmware when I got it... So now I use AceKard2i for my DS Lite!
Yeah, the last firmware version that the AK2i supports on DSI is v1.4.4 before Nintendo fully blocked it. You can only use Unlaunch custom firmware or TWiLight Menu++ via the Memory Pit exploit to boot the flashcart.

A DS phat or lite model is more preferred for most blocked/working DS flashcarts.

In order of purchase:
2007 - Original R4 (2nd edition) - stolen with 3 time store exchanged in 2.5 months DS Lite from under car seat in 2008, still have box and accessories, except for the metal microSD TraaaaansFlash reader which almost caught fire, n1ntend0 still owes me something for it causing me to buy a Wii and one of the 3DSes and every animal crossing until the switch
2012? - some piece of shit by r4isdhc.com (the one before they started printing the yearly labels) - self-bricked of course
2013 - Ezflash 3in1 plus lite - converted to GBA size and back, needs a new battery but can't be arsed*
2013 - "Original" R4 (3rd edition = 100% clone) - Wood though occasionally I run YSMenu or WAIO because the scene was better back then
2015 - r4ids.cn "the good clone" - Wood (or GM9 Professional when I still had some 3DSes)
2017 - Ezflash Omega - the other modded kernel not the one by Stereophonick... I think..., needs a new battery but can't be arsed*

* I bought a CR1220 some time in the mid 2010s and in 2023 it ended up in the new-for-me, 4th hand, never formatted Thinkpad 365XD

I'm sure you can find another one in the box from eBay. From what I've seen, they usually sell between $15 and $20 on average. I bought my R4DS v2 for around £12 at a gaming convention—it came with all of the goodies: a blue wrist strap, a blue silicone case, a mini CD-R containing software, the flashcart itself, as well as the metal microSD/TF reader, which just so happens to not catch fire yet.

I wouldn't recommend using the bundled microSD adapter because it uses the generic Super-Top hardware found in many $1 Chinese SD card adapters. I had bought one that came in translucent blue which died within a week of using it; started smoking and I had to quickly unplug it in-case it caught fire.

They're R4iTT clones, right? Or the R4DS Pro? I can provide a backup if you want. :)

2015 - r4ids.cn "the good clone" - Wood (or GM9 Professional when I still had some 3DSes)
The R4i Gold 3DS RTS cards were one of the best clones over the 'Plus' models. The Wood Kernel has good compatibility and real-time save support.

This thread makes me feel like I'm in 2010.

All I had was a OG R4 and a Acekard 2i.

Oh the memories!
All I had back then before I knew about buying flashcarts second-hand due to how risky it was, I ordered some 'clone' of an R4iTT labelled as 'Dual-Core' 2015. Two-three years later, I bricked it by installing YSMenu before this knowledge was even discovered.

Right now I've only got two. I've given away or sold others I have owned previously.

DSTTi (original non-clone version)
DSOne AliExpress clone
Regardless if your collection is small, that's cool.

The Original DSTTi is quite hard to find as it's been overtaken by clones.
