Homebrew What's your reason for wanting arm9/arm11 control?

Oh, I don't want to go into Nintendo's servers...I just want the 3DS to send them false information they'll believe as true...Like when Obiwan Kenobi told the stormtroopers that those weren't the droids they were looking for, I'd like for my 3ds to tell Nintendo's servers "this is the latest firmware, move along, nothing to see there"...disquising my 9.93DS as a 10.3 one...

That has already been done, but only for people who have kernel access. We may find a way to do this on 9.3+ but right now it seems unlikely.

CFW, full speed emulations, CIA installation. (Everybody wants that, even the no piracy guys want it badly)

I've seen too many of these threads now. :glare:
ARM9 and ARM11 Kexploits will be found again, I'm sure of it. As long as @Mrrraou is still here, and is still too technical for me, then I'm sure we'll find it! :)

That's what was being done with HANS, but Nintendo added more things that differentiate lower system firmware from newer ones that can't just be bypassed by telling the servers you are on the latest version (e.g. new URLs in newer versions of the eShop app)

I truthfully and honestly just want it for more access to a console that I spent money on. Why should I be allowed only user land access if I bought it with my money? I don't really have a reason to pirate anymore because I own a sky3ds. I just want to test the limitations of a fully unlocked console!

of course the reason for asking this is because you want to develop applications that are not useful, or must be that on psp there was hack to allow load games, is that this was one of the main reasons for developing it, this is a question you do is ridiculous because access to the kernel you need to do many things including GBA games playable at an appropriate speed

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
