Hardware What were the features that you initially hoped for the 3DS?

Maybe this is another pointless thread but I want to ask. Did any of you hoped for any feature on the 3DS that didn't come true? Well, I was hoping for multitouch screens (for the lower one) and I don't think that will happen.

Yes and the perfect game to use that would be Paper Mario 3DS , it's still possible for them to implement that though.
Face tracking is perfect for those who can't see stereoscopic 3D.

This was always a rumour which I like the sound of. I heard a few months back we'd be able to rip up to 5 DS games to the 3DS's internal memory. But i've heard nothing recently either. Doing a google search also shows no results about this option.

Some one in the know fancy sheading some light on this subject??
Imagine being able to rip 5 games to the internal memory. sounds fresh to me!!

So? It's still a pretty cool feature and I feel like it has more application than the 3DS at hand.

I'd probably have to go with the multitouch screen myself. It's definitely more helpful for multimedia than a stylus screen. A second analog stick wouldn't hurt either.

Right, you do realize that voice control has been around a lot longer than Kinect don't you?
If Microsoft tried to sue N for that then they would make it seem like sony's case against geohot is bullet proof

OT: I was hoping for a capacitive screen cause I always scratch resistive screen. Haven't bother to check the details on the 3DS's screen to see if we got it but I doubt it.

Good point, I forgot that normal stylus (What is the plural for stylus?) doesn't work on capacitive, you need a specific one.

Also on voice activation, Microsoft could try and argue that, but I highly doubt it would hold in court.

I hoped for:

- built-in rumble. There were even some rumours on Nintendo patenting vibrating stylus

- this stupid space between both screens removed
- bigger screen (filling the whole upper part, speakers moved somewhere else)

What still can be achieved, maybe with homebrew:
- email/RSS client
- Facebook client
- 3D video shooting capability (just think of all these amateur porn movies - in 3D !!!)
- ability to rip and play your own movies

OK, but how the hell would you actually join the top to the bottom ??? Without that 'stupid space' there would be no place for the hinge or the cables. You might as well remove the 'stupid battery' or the 'stupid charger port'.

Oh god, a tablet DS? That sounds horrible.

I was hoping for the power to save lives and make double rainbows.

Nintendo already put everything else I wanted into it.
