Hacking what version ds has everyone got

Hi all

Just interested in what version everyones ds is and does wifi with homebrew work, to see what version you have to do the following

The firmware version of a DS can be confirmed using the Pictochat Test, [1] [2] also called TakeMeOut: [3]

1.Insert a DS card or a GBA Game Pak into the DS. (If a GBA Game Pak does not work, try a DS card.)
2.Turn on the DS, open Pictochat and enter a chat room.
3.Remove the card.
4.Both screens should now be filled with a solid color.

Additionally, this color is also shown for a brief second before the DS enters Sleep Mode when the lid is closed.
Version 1: The DS will freeze (the screens do not change color)
Version 2: Grayish Blue
Version 3: Dark Green
Version 4: Yellow
Version 5: Magenta
Version 6: Brown
Version 7: Purple
iQue: Dark Green
DS Lite: Purple
FlashMe on original DS: Dark Green
FlashMe on DS Lite: Purple

I've got flashme v8 and most wi-fi homebrew work.

It didn't work before, but it's fine since my SSID isn't hidden anymore.

I've got a v2 DS Phat, unflashed. I once had flashme installed in it, but I removed it because I had a nopass device.

Strange.

Brand new (again) unflashed DS Lite. Not planning to flash it unless olimar discovers some really super cool feature and puts it into FlashMe 9

When you say purple, do you mean THIS

or do you mean like a reddish pink? because mine is more pink than purple.

Anybody who got a DS Phat at Launch and ISN"T from the US will have Ver2 firmware. My guess is that because my sister's ds phat she got on Christmas '04 had v1 firmware and it's an NTSC handheld so that's just my theory

Probably a coloring defect. All DS Lites use V7/DS Lite Firmware.

flashme with a phat ds will give you a dark green
flashme with a newer phat or a ds lite will give you a magneta mostly cause for the wifi and screen(will break if used on earlier)

hope that clears up some confusions

idk what version mine is, but it's magenta and it's a ds lite. it's not purple i can tell you that much.
