I regularly use it for avoiding the blocks that my UK ISP has on piracy sites.

Besides that, the more specific thing I used it for recently was ripping the last episode of Moonshine from the Canadian TV network CBC's website, because it only allowed viewing from Canada, and for some reason that final episode of the season hadn't been uploaded by scene groups when all the previous ones had.
