I struggle finding a job in a world where people are paid billions for bashing other people's heads in and slowly killing them with brain damage while promoting domestic abuse of wives and sharing pictures of them badly bruised, injured, and crying for the sole purpose of "fun" entertainment (pro televised boxers), millions to attack authority, advertise and take loads of heart-damage-related drugs, and break bus windows (MMA/UFC), millions to take loads of hallucinogens and show it as entertainment for kids with no effort made towards a script or sequence of events in a story (lizard up boba fett's nose in Star Wars TV), many billions for physically attacking people based entirely on their skin color, etc.; I suppose if that behavior is that valuable, it speaks volumes about me and the content of my character if that same world despises me.

Please, let me know which behavior I have that makes me not fit in with that or Bethesda, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, EA Games, Activision, etc.; I really want to know how exactly my behavior is not fit for billion dollar or more organization leaders.

Just let me know why I don't fit in the world where that is highly valued and let me know the exact differences.

I don't know about the world, but the US wants to replace as many workers as possible with AI, and replace as much entertainment as possible with AI slop. It is a pretty sad state of affairs, and I certainly wouldn't want to be someone graduating high school or college right now, but I can relate given that I did graduate HS just before the 2008 economic crash.

The trades continue to be a good bet for essential work, in many cases you'll be paid during training, or you can get an easygoing part-time job and see what you can make from online side hustles during the rest of the week.

This is what I get for refusing adultery, murder, theft, etc.

I spoke with someone while my anger flared off.

I prefer being easygoing and joking around, but it's scary to the biggest gymgoers and MMA people when they see me utterly break two hundred pound bags and rumble and shake the entire building with "gunshot" movements from my patterns. That's why I joke around a lot; I hold back to be kind, even when I am bullied.

They find it weird that I never yell or scream at them after breaking stuff in a single hit; I just turn around and ask them gently how their day is going.

You know full well why my contract offer was six hundred million U.S. dollars per ten minutes in two thousand and twenty three to be a pro boxer when a single punch broke all of these:

The broken bags from the punch the other day.jpg

I was asked to toy with Mayweather for ten minutes and then gently knock him out, "we got to have a show." (what the World Boxing Association Board told me exactly), but two wrongs don't make a right, so I declined and was given "anonymous" death threats, etc. for refusing.

They know I know.

I calmed down after speaking with my worst critic-turned-greatest-supporter; he agrees that it is _hard_ to do the right thing when you are seeing red like I was, but he was pleasantly suprised that I kept full self-control in the process of being as angry as I could have been.

Self-control does not mean being emotionless; when you can control yourself when you are as angry as you can possibly be, then you actually have self-control.

Notice it says, "slow to anger", not "angerless":

"He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city."

I'm a big proponent of Eat the rich. IMO this goes back to 2008 crash and since than most people have not recovered. I'm British and wage stagnation has been an issue my entire adult life. The fact so many people do the right thing and are getting screwed over whilst billionaires get more and more rich is incredible. What's even more incredible are these same billionaires backing politicians blaming minorities for why everything is so shit.

I do feel like an absolute dissappointment.

I picked a calling that is often considered incompetent, and was then called incompetent at that calling with my best efforts. The situation does look hopeless.

I don't know why I am comfortable sharing this with you all, but I do feel very inept.

"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

We all only have limited control of the peaks and valleys in our lives. Micro/macro environmental factors always play a huge role, so the best any of us can do is roll with the punches. Meditating can always be helpful, new skills can always be learned.

To be clear: I don't think you are inept, you just feel that way right now.

@MPRTwice and @Xzi - Seems as if those who are good, try to help others, make a difference as best they can, get screwed like no other. Those rotten People, seems they have it made, most of the time. Just waiting for shit to hit the fan, where People realize the error of their ways. Either that or someone pushes the big Reset Button.
Plus, seriously, why do Scammers go after those who are struggling, and not target the Wealthy????? Plus, whenever a Scammer goes after someone, the Victim gets screwed over again by Companies, or the Government. Well, maybe if Companies would do their damn Job, to combat that, go after the Criminals, and make an example out of them..... . Oh, but you have those who give them a slap on the wrist, "Oh, they are just trying to support themselves/their family". ....really???? By Victimizing others?????

Thing is, there are companies whose entire mission is to scam people. Companies don't care about legality or ethics, only what makes them the most money. Legality also varies by their registered country.

Companies left to their own devices will pretty much ALWAYS scam people. CEOs with a heart are like the proverbial oasis in the desert.

It's a great thing that the US has the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Oh wait....

I have to say i don't quite understand the op in what's being said. It's more from feelings than rationalisation. Perhaps I'm not reading it correctly; if so: sorry if the below misses the mark.

IMHO there is no such thing as 'the world'. Or rather: there is this huge rock with water, earth and plants and stuff. And then there's humans. And... If you ask me: nothing else. Perhaps not a dead God but otherwise just an indifferent one to anything - anything - we do.

As a whole, we just don't realize it yet. Or it's deeper: we try to instill our children with morals we hope will create a better world, but it mostly helps those without ethics to thrive.

I lost my dream job a year ago. Now I make almost 1000 euro less a month, a longer commute, and in practice: with way more responsibility. Which is pretty disgusting, seeing how my boss makes three times my wage to sit in meetings all day and ignores warnings until it becomes a crisis (and yet he's potentially the best boss I've had). As someone who perceives a lot of directors, there's this mentality... A sort of automatic perception of people as assets. They have their vision to follow and won't budge from that. It's not exactly evil or narcissistic, but there just isn't empathy for anything.

On a wider scale... 2008 was a turning point. There was inequality before, but that was the time(in Belgium, but i think global as well) that signaled the world that the rich could steal from everyone else and not just get away with it, but get rewarded for it in the process.

But back to personal... I get by. I don't need much for myself anymore, but worry that I can't provide for my wife and kid without sacrificing myself (I'm on brink of a burnout for at least a month now).

I am Sorry I got so upset. Thanks to you all for cheering me up. I need to realize that I am in this position because I made good choices, so that means that I did not make a huge mistake that got me here. Therefore, I don't need to feel defeatist or abandoned.

I was a CEO for a while, I never scammed anyone, and I managed my budget to stay in business during Covid when other ones like mine fell. I was targeted by other CEO's and harassed by them; they were losing loads of money since my prices were far lower and I still was making bank at the time with free vouchers and paying dedicated employees close to or at my salary level. "It's called balancing a budget; learn it." is what I said to my critics/competitors when they sent me hate messages and tried/failed to sabotage me. While I was in business, I was always many steps ahead of them at all times; being a successful, level-headed, witty, "street-smart" CEO is a walk in the park after teaching.

I could tell you about the "business card" incident if you ever wanted to know about their failed attempts to sabotage me and how it came back to bite them:

I placed business cards with my credentials at approved places; the entire set would be gone the next day, every day I replaced them, and no one else's, so I simply used their attempt to my advantage: "Social Media: Wow! Look at that! We are out of cards again! So many are interested in robotics and engineering with us! Come see us at....!" My competitors were fuming that I worked every setback into a springboard; they never taught a day in their lives, so they had no idea how to counter my methods. So many of them lost money because we offered less expensive prices and did not believe in "highway robbery" nonsense; we justifed our fees for instruction, put most of the profit right back into better computers, equipment, staff pay, etc. (similar to that 60's cartoon clip I shared of business 101; it works!) and many said it was the best they had and were astonished at the price for the quality.

That said, I can't do it. It took in a lot of money, but it felt like I was doing nothing. So I decided to go back to teaching, and was abruptly threatened with death.

They really despised me for not wanting to make money. There were days where the entire class asked me why I was "a fool for not making a lot of money and retiring early." I told them after a heated yet controlled debate that if I wanted to help others, what is that to them and their own free will, and then most, but not all, agreed with that. They knew I was calling out anyone who had a problem with _my_ choice to teach instead of being a CEO, as it is not _their_ choice. They can make their own decisions; I don't judge them. I only judge actions, not people.

You are nowhere as essential as you believe you are, calm down no one is threatening you
