With the power to have nice 2D Graphics.

-Online mode based on a global Nintendo user account, not friend codes
-Official support for homebrew development
-Camera for wifi-based video-conferencing
-Virtual console support (allow to get a copy of VC games from your Wii)
-Parental control

It's a handheld gaming device. Why the hell does it need a camera? Why on Earth would it need video conferencing? A lot of the ideas in this thread are just rubbish that people would expect the latest "OMG TECHNOLOLOGICAL GIZMO" to have.

All it needs are a few buttons, a decent sized screen (that's backlit) and some 8bit graphics.

Improve the build so we don't have cruddy shoulder buttons/hinges/d-pads and whatnot. Give us an analog stick. Improve the online system. And finally, some better graphics, but that's a given.

• Matte finish, DSL design gets too messy, the Mac-esque design is better suited to items that won't be touched all over.

Re: a new type of media like UMD. It would consume more power than solid state media so that is one of the big reasons why Nintendo went with it.

Building on the DSi:
* Better CPU(s) or one NICE CPU to reduce the problems that can occur with trying to sync the CPUs for audio, etc (problematic in emulators I've read)
* Better resolution screen(s) that use some type of OLED to greatly reduce the energy consumption while providing a good view
* Single bendable touch screen
* Accelerometer
* Pop up analog stick
* Dual L/R triggers
* C & Z face buttons
* Built in scripting for "safe homebrew"
* Li-Ion battery with a massive mAh
* Wifi A/B/G/N with support for all encryption types
* USB host port
* USB slave port
* Wireless connectivity for GBA and other emulated games (locally on WFC)

Things that would be cool but not a dealbreaker if they aren't included:
* Bluetooth (for using Wiimote with Wii-like mobile games)
* GPS
* Skinning of entire system
