The only code i had on was 100% capture lol. used pokesav bw to rip. however the poke, and the others, didnt work on random wifi even before i even loaded the save file into pokesav.

finally tested most things

-3rd and 4th gen tutor moves, tms, and egg moves work.
-pokewalker exclusive moves work
-the game will accept almost any PID
-if you're going to edit ivs, change the pokemon from a gen 5 PID to a method 1 PID and do it that way. catching a pokemon and immediately changing its ivs will disqualify it.
-random wifi doesn't care about catch location

What exactly is this method 1 PID?

in the PID finder in pokegen, it's: 1 (A-B-C-D)

it should be selected by default.

Isn't Pokégen for B/W still buggy?
//edit So just pokegen -> load pokemon -> tools -> PID finder -> select method 1 -> edit iv/ev -> search PID and copy it to the pokemon?
//edit Would enabling pokérus on a pokemon cause problems?

it's a hell of a lot better than pokesav even if it is buggy.

pokerus might, though i doubt it. and, yes, that's what i'm talking about.

So then, let me get this straight 'cause I'm a bit confused.
Once in the PID screen I choose the Method 1, then I change IVs, and then I hit search. But waht happpens if I don't get the desired IVs while searching, or the shininess?

look for other ivs? not really many choices at the moment, no one knows yet exactly how 5th gen PIDs are formed well enough to implement it, so that's not doable yet.

So it's better not to mess with EV/IVs.

ideally no until more is known about the whole process of 5th gen PID generation, etc. EVs are fine so long as they add up to no more than 510.
